I'm thinking of putting in a deep enough drop-floor box that I can sit upright with my lower legs all the way down. I'm considering a using a shallow open-bottom footwell with a box that extends the footwell even lower. The footwell would be under a removable section of floor that might be usable as a table. A box in the footwell can be dropped in with the open end pointing down to increase ground clearance where the box is or dropped in with the open end up to allow full leg-room. In this diagram the top view shows the footwell stored for travel and the bottom view shows the footwell set up for sitting upright in the trailer.
