And then the cutting began, and didn't stop until this end result.

The subfloor is made up of 1x3 studs, with large carriage bolts sunken into them, so that I have a completely flat and unpenetrated floor. The floor is liquid nails'd to the subfloor, with small decking screws added periodically for extra strength.
