Kurt,

We just happened to be in the area today, and so stopped by the park.

The crews were busy with their chain saws cutting down damaged and diseased trees.

It is a really big mess now, but it is a nice improvement and will be fine by camping season.
The dead trees and dead branches at and over the campsites were always a worry...

While we were there, we checked out the spot we reserved, and have some good news, and some bad news.
The bad news is that we decided it was too steep, and so will be in #41 instead.
The good news is who ever really wanted #38 can have it now!

Maps for the attendees:

I will have a map for attendees on the website (Maps page) call the "Attendance Map"

It will take a little time to update the map for new attendees so your marker might not be on the map yet. (give me a few days to get it updated)

This shows the location of every entry for the CRA event. If, for some reason, you don't see your "marker" on the map (by the end of January, then simply email me at [email protected] and I'll get it on the map.

One of the areas needing help at the 2011 CRA was the food lines at the pitch in. I personally took it on as a "fix it " issue in 2013 and it still failed to an extent. We rented cafeteria tables instead of moving picnic tables, but the Dutch oven contest and lack of people supervising the placement of dishes attributed to the back log of people wanting to get their food no sit down and eat!!
So....we are once again addressing this issue for this year to try to help the delay. We are renting more tables, will have multiple food lines, and will have several "food czars" to direct you where to place your dishes, and direct warm bodies to better move the lines. And the Dutch oven contest Will Not be held before the pitch in. More on that later.

Dan,

Tables...

Perhaps the table rental fee is so minor as to not be an issue, but if it is, PM. me.
I may be able to bring a few at no cost.

Well I tried and failed. Ya really do have to wait until 12 noon local time to book for a Thursday arrival :x

I tried to sneak in at 9AM and they told me NO!

So 3 more hours and I can lock my site down. It was nice to know it is still available ( so far )

Rob, Thanks for the update. The park will look better by July.

BTW, you sent in money (paypal) for your registration. Have you sent in the Registration form yet? I don't have one on file.
