Scott, I'm waiting to leave about 1:00pm. The rain should be through here by then. It looks like we should be OK by Sunday.

Scott, it was a fun time. I loved the comments as we rolled down the parade route.

I heard things such as:" No honey, we can't all get in there to go camping" said by an interested Mom. Also: a man said, "Hey, I could never get in there". and... then there was "Look it's a barn camper!".

It sure made the parade more interesting for a lot of on lookers.

Menu update (7/13/09) for Chain of Lakes "Pitch-in" dinner.

Only17 more days to go - Any more menu ideas??

Kurt - "Sausage/chicken Gumbo (over rice) and Carribean Red Beans and Rice."

Dan & Suzi - "Cold steak salad"

Bob & Vic - Homemade hot bread and a Monster meat loaf.

Joe & Vicky - Cabbage stew

Post what you would like to bring and I'll keep a running list of menu items..

Friday night we will have a "wine and Cheese" get together (on site #70) where we can meet each other.
This is a voluntary party but if you plan to attend just bring a bottle of wine (or two) and a "finger food" to serve between wines.
Kraft beers are always welcome as well so bring your favorite for the enjoyment of all. :applause:

A stealth attendee: I was looking at the camping map, intending to join the party ..... and then it turned into a family gathering instead, though on the same weekend. So I'll be a bit further away (#336) and doing dinners with family -- but we do plan to meander through "Teardrop Lane" to check out all the other tears! Mine is a tear, but I'll be with a 19 ft Roadtrek RV and beside a pop-up. Just bought my tear a week ago. Got to give it a first test out!

Bob,
I like the "barn to be wild".......what a clever idea, a dual usage trailer. Are you planning to park your lawn mower inside when you're not camping?
What are the finished dimensions?
Won't you miss sleeping under the stars?
