Very good time, Thanks to everyone for helping to make another great gathering to talk about. We had 8 in attendance this year including 1 from Detroit and a few that stopped by just to look and visit. 1 from Indy and 1 from Cincinnati. :thumbsup:

Wind must have been gusting at 25 - 35 MPH. Several times in the night the trailer shook enough to wake me. Freezing rain developed during the night and then a beautiful snow shower to greet us in the AM.

The little wood stove worked great inside temps went to 75 in about an hour with 14 1x1x4 inch logs and a lot of kindling. It has an appetite for wood but worked well and QUIET. The insane winds caused a few downdrafts and vickie was not happy with the smoke in her bedroom so we let it die out about 7 pm while we were enjoying our evening meal which was a real nice pitchin with lots and lots of goodies.

We doubled our numbers this years with 8 trailers (08 was 4) and we had 10 brave souls for the night. We also had 2 visitors who dropped in.

I hope they drop in and give their views as a bystander as to their take on this insanity.

Vic and I are both a little tired and sore from toating and loading but are still smilin' Sadie , our Scottie is in front of the gas fireplace thawing out and glad to be home.

made the trip up from Cincy to check out this event. Enjoyed the time spend with this great group of people. Left with some good ideas to use on my tear, To all I met , hope to meet again in May.

Just pulled in from Chicago. Glad you guys (and girls) had a fun campout. It looks (in the group shot) that you weren't suffering at all. :thumbsup:

Nope, I did get a little video while in the party tent with my digital camcorder but it's not uploaded yet. I haven't even seen it yet to see how it came out.

Bob the wood stove is wonderful looking! Nice to know it works. Probably need to convert it to a pellet stove. And fix the down draft. I just love it!

Just wanted to give my two :thumbsup:

for another great event. This being my first winter Shiveree, I was pleasantly surprised. It was nice to see the dedication from those that traveled some distance for the one day event. Karl from D-Town who by the way almost showed us a new trick with cold CEREAL (thanks to Bob) and to Tim who ventured up from Cincinnati just to visit and is Bob & Vicki's neighbor in May; it was nice to meet you both. It was nice to meet Scott's bro and the camper from Noblesville who showed us the biggest flash light out there (I am real bad with names) :oops:

Scott & His brother gave us examples of things not to say to the DNR officer :shock:

when he comes around for a donation (Sorry you had to be there. If I told ya I'd have to :thinking:

)

Over all it was a great trip. We talked, ate, camped and enjoyed the "Great Outdoors".
It was nice to meet Paul from South Indy. Hopefully we will see you in May. Speaking of May, I am sure Scott and Kurt will be on here reminding those who have not yet done so . Get you spots for the May gathering while the gettin's good. :thumbsup:

LADY ! Old what's her name was the only representative for the fairer sex. God love Vickie! I don't know what I did to deserve her but I am glad I did it. :lol:

Bob, here is the recorded temperatures up to 5:45 pm for Anderson on Jan 17, 2009

wind chill can be calculated here.

Somehow this doesn't seem cold enough, but then, I wasn't there.

Hey Kurt it was cold enough with the wind blowing the way it was. But not too cold to use your suggestion or wearing a tropical shirt and shorts.

New Castle history shows sustained winds of 17 mph and gust to 35 on the 17 th.

My twisted pop up is proof of that.

Temps were from low 20 to 10 degrees

The box is the range we were in for the entire 2 days
