Verna, the A/C makes camping a new experience. I put mine in about 9 years ago and won't leave home without it. :picklejuice: :fan:

Kurt, you know what the weather is today, right? 102* and not really pleasant.

I sat the A/C unit on a storage box outside, but next to the door with the window open. In 20 minutes, the inside of the TD was down to 83* from 99. It actually feels great in there!!! Now I know that if I don't get the A/C unit "installed" before the Tippecanoe River outing, that I will at least be comfy

Took a road trip on the 4th and went to the park for an afternoon picnic. You will all be relieved to know most of our sites are in DEEP shade. Despite the 99 degree heat it was much more comfortable in the shade than in the bright sunshine. It's a nice park with plenty of elbow room between sites. As Barb said ice and firewood are available at the camp host's site ( just a very short walk away) I stopped and met him and took the liberty to invite him and his wife to our pot luck dinner. He was looking forward to getting to seeing the "little" trailers.

Here is a couple pic's of site 50

Theyre allowing campfires? Thought a burn ban was in effect?

Spoke with Kimberly in the park office moments ago and campfires ARE allowed in the designated fire rings ONLY.

They want to make it clear the fire danger is currently rated as HIGH and hope fires are closely tended and small enough to be safe.

Hi Kurt, This is Jim and Evelyn Weber, spoke to you a few weeks ago. We are planning on attending the gathering on July 19-22nd. We will be there on the 20th, we look forward to meeting you at that time, along with the others. Probably will bring some type of dessert.

Just in case you missed it: there was a 27 acre fire at the McCormick's Creek SP yesterday. It was just off of the campground. There's still no word on how it started. Thanks to the DNR firefighters who quickly extinguished the fire!!

Please be mindful of any and all fires (smoking, also). As Bob mentioned, the fire danger is HIGH.

Off my soapbox......

Good news! :D The boss lady has cleared me to come for part of the gathering. She can't come, but I'll have 2 or 3 of my sons with me. I'll post what site we have as soon as I can get to an actual computer to make reservations.

Look forward to meeting everyone.

My boys and I will be in site #72. Sorry, Verna, There goes the neighborhood.

We'll be in a tent this time; but hopefully not next time. :worship:

Kurt, put us down for a dessert. I'll probably have my Boy Scouts make a dutch oven Scout cobbler.

Can someone tell me what the electrical hook ups are like. Can I use a standard extension cord or will I need an RV type adapter?

You can use a regular extension cord (like the orange outdoor ones). No fancy RV adapter.
