Well we have officially outgrown the smaller campgrounds !

Are we headed to the 120+ unit side yet Kurt ?????

Folks we have to stop at 183 trailers, that fills the entire park !

I am with Karl I think we will break the century mark on this gathering.

LET'S CRAM THE CREEK :D

Bob, it looks pretty sure that we will out grow Campground Loop "B".
It appears that all of the "main" reservations will have to be made in Loop "A".
If we get so many campers that we fill up Loop "A", then Loop "B" will need to be the overflow.

I think my estimate of 74 trailers might be a little low. Heck, for all I know Karl's guess of (101) might be too low too.

I would like to remind everyone that this planned weekend the park will also be celebrating it's 95th anniversary and there will be a free concert on Saturday. There will be a lot of competition from the local camping crowd so although 7 months sound a long ways off this park will explode with reservations in about a week. When the flood gates are opened for new reservations starting mid month it will be a stampede.

Great point Bob. All the more reason to register now so you'll have a spot in July.

Postby Coletrain » Thu Jan 06, 2011 8:43 pm

I STARTED MY TEARDROP A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO AND IT'S COMING ALONG NICELY.

I ANTICIPATE BEING COMPLETED AND ROLLING IT OUT FOR THE CROSSROADS CAMP.

KURT, IS SITE 11, 12, OR 13 OPEN? HOW DO I GET THE MONEY TO YOU FOR ONE OF THE SITES?

I LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING EVERYONE!

Coletrain, You can go to the web site http://cra2011.weebly.com/index.html
and download the "registration form" on the "Download Documents" page.

You can send a check along with the printed out form.

Those sites are still open. How about #11?

Hope this helps.

KURT, IT MAY JUST BE THE MAP, BUT #12 LOOKS SLIGHTLY BIGGER. I THINK I WOULD LIKE THAT SITE.

AS A "NEWBIE" I WILL HAVE MANY QUESTIONS FOR EVERYONE. SO FAR, EVERYONE HAS BEEN GREAT! DURING YOUR CAMPS ARE TENTS ALLOWED TO BE PITCHED ON THE SIGHT ALONG WITH THE TEARDROP?

Number 12 it is.

I think that a tent is OK but if you look on the DNR web site it might have an answer.
Here's what I found.

• One camping group shall be permitted to occupy one campsite in a
campground. A camping group consists of as many as six persons,
not necessarily related. One main camping unit per campsite with one
additional tent and one dining fly are permitted per site and subject to
the property manager’s discretion.
Horse campgrounds permit additional
trailers for horse transport, and some of those units provide family living
space. In this situation, the horse trailer may serve as either the main or
the secondary camping unit.

Only 8 registrations to go.
After the reservations are finished for the first group, we will have a "Campground Map" showing who's coming and where they are staying at the Park. This Map will be updated so you can see the growth of the gathering.

We have a geographical spread from Topeka, KS to New York City, and from Florida to Ottawa (Canada). This is almost an 800 mile radius from McCormick's Creek State Park.

Pretty amazing - Thanks to all who are supporting this gathering. :applause:

There are currently 45 paid registrations.

Still time to get into the "First 50"...

I looked at the "300 Mile radius" map and saw I was just on the line, but when I checked Mapquest I found it was a 400 mile drive. I could have saved about 50 mile if I drove through Chicago. I figure I save a lot of toll money and mucho agro by driving though Bloomington before heading east!

Tom, take the scenic route. The tolls in Chicago are terrible with the trailer behind you.

I towed mine to LaCrosse one time and could have gotten a cheap hotel room for the amount I paid in tolls going through Chicago.

Enjoy the ride.
