Girls, a note to say, when you see the pictures on line you will notice I

am the one that look like I live in Alaska. I would not have

missed this time for anything. I ,being from Tennessee,

love the rolling hills and senic views. I had been to Brown County

many years ago it is even more beautiful in snow. It

was fabulous. As we left in the dark we rounded a curve and interupted

a herd of deer having a party in the road they are always so pretty up

Glad to hear everyone survived the cold! I didn't even bother to venture out to the workshop today. Even with too many projects going at once I didn't feel it was worth it. I'll be back at it tomorrow as I have the day off. Off to a slow start on my tow vehicle restoration ( projected finish time 10 years ). I better get it to a stopping point and get back to the tear and finish that galley.

Auntie M I tried to update my old post about wood heat .
It can be seen on my posts but doesn't show up as a new
one I guess. There are pics of the niech installed and the
stove in operation inside.

It was a success
Went from 40+ to 78 in 12 minutes. I was the dummy
that forgot 1/2 of the stack. ( left it home in my ton truck)
DUH . Yes safety freaks I am aware a wood box
is not a good container for a wood stove.
I intend to have a very light gauge steel housing made.
I was not planning to fire it hard enough to cause problems
I simply wanted to see if this was a doable idea.
It will be a fixture on Chubby for cold weather.
I originally intended to have the stove inside
but there was no room. The tip out will now allow
the stack to exit straight out the top and be even
easier to build a new chiminey.
There is a side benefit during transit the tip out lays
on its back inside and the grills and greasy pans and
other soiled items can rest inside it on the way home.

This stuff should prevent the need for metal. Don't know how expensive but it weighs a lot less. I just love the little pot belly stove. So cute.

I am sorry to bump such an old thread but I did have a question. Did they have the electric on at the campsites for your campout. The reason I ask is that I am in the planning stages for a winter campout at Brown County with some of my Geocaching friends and they were asking me about electricity. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

They had electric but the modern bathrooms were closed, the pit toilets were open so camp near one.
The sites were $11.00 a night I think
And you book when you got there no need to book in advance there were plenty of open spots
