Camping in the Midwest, including Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin & Kentucky. Also includes Buckeye, Hoosier and BlueGrass Tearjerker chapters

Postby Claw » Mon Apr 14, 2008 8:47 pm

Betsey thanks for the out on cooking. I'll bring two bags of Kingsford and some boy scout juice.

I can also bring a bag of Millstone Breakfast Blend coffee. I'll check and see if I can find a big coffee pot to borrow.

I have a CI waffle iron. I'll let someone with more experienced use it or it can hold a door open.

Our big percolator bit the dust after the last outing...

Wifey says cinnamon rolls for the breakfast... Instead of biscuits.

We'll attempt spaghetti for the dinner (it'll be something along that line, the big trick is boiling enough water!). 8) All these wussy burners take forever to boil water on.

EDIT: See post below for Pat and Paul's contribution to this cholesterol laden meal setup ;)

We will bring a big bag of shredded cheese for breakfast, and I'm still trying to decide what to make in the dutch oven for supper.

It is so nice to see some sun and warmer weather!

Rick -

I'll have that big camp-chef single burner 30,000 BTU stove along and a 10 gallon propane tank . . . you are welcome to use it. I also have a big 16 quart pot that goes with it that I could bring along . . .

Let me know - looking forward to seeing you guys again !

I put a extra 12 cup electric off to the side already.
It's scary when you start making the same noises as your coffee maker.

Way to go, Elmo!

I was worried that we would have cranky people if they didn't have their cuppa joe in the morning :x ...course, some of us non-coffee drinkers are cranky if we don't get our Coke/Diet Coke in the morning.....

Thank you! :applause:

I will also bring my electric percolator in addition to the 8 cup stovetop model that is already packed in the camper.

[quote="Betsey"]Diet Coke in the morning..... quote]

I need my Diet Coke...

Any way, I have a regular coffee maker set aside for camping (for my mom) and I could bring that too.

Remember a while back when their was a discussion about coffee? That's when I thought this breakfast could be sort of an experiment on how many ways to make coffee. Is their a big difference in the taste and what does coffee taste like from a french press, unless Elmo breaks his again like last year.
About the breakfast, WOW, what more can be said. I will get the key to the shelter at 8:00AM. That is just for the kitchen/eating space, I think the big room with the fire place will be open all the time, but it will be ours from 8AM to 11PM. There is also picnic tables and a fryer (that's a grill to you non Sheboygan people) out front over looking the lake.
See Ya all next week  8) :D
