Brat days are always the first weekend of August. It may warm up by then. Consider your self invited.

The story behind the penguins. No they don't really live on site 20, sorry no welcome committee. It's just some place I drive past every day. It started about 4 to 6 years ago, every winter they move around the side yard at a store called" Leave me in stitches", an embroidery store. Apparently they have quite a sense of humor because the penguins are moved every couple of days. They build things, string lights and in the end disappear in the back yard. follow their travels in the pictures.

I am bummed  . They sure are cute. Your photograpy skills are great to make them look like you took the picture at the campground.

The embroidery shop has a good idea with their roamming penguins.

Are you keeping warm? It is bitter cold here and now it is snowing again.

Cooler by the Lake Camp out

Postby dwe » Sat Jan 17, 2009 5:45 pm

2 Grand

The Camp out is set for April 24-25-26. Can be a little cool at that time of the year. It is at Kohler-Andrae State park. We are in the first loop but I don't know how many sites are left. There are also sites in the second loop that are very close but some do not have electricity. Your best bet would be to check on line to see what is open. A heater may be a good idea. If you have a place in your camper Wal-Mart has one with a thermostat for about $20. Some here are tough and don't have a heater. Just some info. Last year the weather was a little wet and cool but everyone had a good time.

Our campgrounds look similar to yours with one exception......the snow cover would be to the top of the tables and higher next to the roads! Looks like you're all having a good time. Would it be safe to assume there is a lot of "antifreeze" being consumed? If it were not for all the salt on the roads here, I'd try winter camping. I don't want to mess up my pretty Camp-Inn, all clean and tucked away in the garage. We welcome our IN neighbors to "Cooler Near The Lake 3"

Hello everyone -

Camp site-o El numero Twenty-Five-o (#25) for us . . . . arriving Thursday and leaving Monday.

No snow would be nice !! (Penguins may be mistaken for Pet Co "squeaky toys" and who knows where that would lead . . . )

Looking forward to it !!

Mike
