Michigan Gathering

Camping in the Midwest, including Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin & Kentucky. Also includes Buckeye, Hoosier and BlueGrass Tearjerker chapters

Postby Muskrat » Fri May 30, 2008 7:24 pm

We have sent an email to the campground. Waiting for a response. We are interested in attending. We are hoping we meet some other Michiganders with TD's and Tiny campers. We know several from Wisconsin and Illinois.

Come on down and join the fun. The more, the merrier. There should be plenty of sites still available.

We finally have our site reserved. We are in site 52.

It is best to call to make a reservation. We tried by email but they do not have out going email from the campground because they use a dial up connection and do not want to tie up the phone line.

By the way we are from Rockford MI. We need to update our profile.

Jack and Nancy

Great. We're looking forward to meeting you. Thanks for the tip about the email. We went to the campground to make the arrangements so we didn't know there was an issue.

We'll actually be up in Rockford Saturday. We have friends there whose son is having his graduation party.

See you soon.

Stu & Rocky

Hey Stu

Not sure if we can get the time off yet.

Stu, you are really tempting me with this gathering. It looks like a great spot. I would like to go to MI at least once this year. The drive around the lake on the Kennedy on a Friday is what is causing me pause. Give me some time I am considering.

Jim, you can do it. We travel to WI on the Kennedy. You just have to plan to travel between 10AM and 2PM thru Chicago. The earlier the better we have found to work the best, but after rush hour traffic. But you would probably have a harder time traveling back on Sunday. But you know all this stuff about traffic patterns.

But coming back from WI at the end of April on Sunday wasn't bad on the Kennedy.

We drove out to New York City in May on the OH Turnpike and traffic is down this year. People are saving their gas, it appears. We just saw mostly truck drivers.

Hope you can make it to Michigan in July. We look forward to seeing you!

Jack and Nancy,
I am sure I can get through Chicago but it reminds me too much of work!
Last weekend I did 9 hours up north of the twin cities (MN) and it wasn't too bad (Great River Road and all) but then the city driving was later at night so traffic was less. If I can get the boss to let me off at noon or so the drive would be OK. I am just wondering if the MI folks would tolerate someone from IL crashing their gathering! ;)
Stu stayed up late with me at Turkey Run last year but it might have been just a neighborly jester. Those Packer fan are a friendly sort. 8)

Jim, if i can crash Indiana, Ohio and New York gatherings with the Packermobile, I think we can let you crash our gathering. I don't know if I can promise to stay up late again.
Hope you can make it.

Stu, looks like a good gathering shaping up fast. :applause:

I wish I could be there but timing is not good (for me) in July.

Have fun.

Thanks Kurt. I wish you could make it too, but we all get busy at times. Hopefully next year.

On the other hand, congratulations on your retirement. :dancing :P I can't wait until it's my turn.

Here's a map with reserved spots and the sites that are on hold.

Remember they won't hold the sites beyond June 20th. Don't get caught snoozing. :duh:
