first off I wanted to thank everyone for doing such a great job getting a hold of all involved parties.
As far as Summit, it looks like there is plenty of areas to get out of the wind.

My, how plans can change.

No, even though I was just going to visit you hearty campers, I've been summonsed to go to Chicago wih my wife.

We will be baby sitting Saturday and Sunday for the grandson and the dog while my son and his wife attend a "company" outing.. :)

So, I guess I'll not be able to take movies after all. It's still a good idea and I think a youtube of the campout would be fun.

Can anyone cover me for the video?

We are leaving about 6:00am so I'll check the forum before I go.

I'm torn between sitting in a warm car for 4 hours and seeing my grandson or sitting in 5deg F weather enjoying great food, friends and frozen drinks.

Believe me, it's tough call, but my wife needs me to help out cause the baby is having some cold/flu/ear infection problems.

By the time I get to Chicago, your weather should start to warm all the way up (to about 20-25F).

Scott, this is a good opportunity to check out Summit Lake for a future gathering.

It's hard to beliethat they don't have snow issues since they are so close to Mounds.

Oh Well, you'll see when you get there. :applause:

Well, They are calling for a couple inches of snow down here in the south Saturday night into Sunday morning so I will have to stay down here for work. Darn the bad luck! Spent all morning out in the cold wind today getting trucks started. Bout got my fill today. I may put the heater in the tear and try it out tomorrow night anyway! (work permitting) See you all in the spring. Be safe!

Here to after the Shivaree of 09 will be refered to as the
" FROSTBITE FOLLIES"
Weeks of planning and chatter :throw PC:

Delayed by brain numbing weather :snow

Aborted for lack of a landing site :x

( who would have thought a State Park would close for weather)

diverted to an alternate landing site :campfire:

( another State Park 30 miles away [ they must buy better weather :) ])

We are t - 2 hours till blast off and counting.

We are gonna take :pictures: and :wine party: and :Flippin Burger:

and enjoy the diverse and wonderous vistas of Indiana glistening in her new blanket of white.
Growing older but not up !

Bob the park isn't closed just the campground.

Does anyone know if the campground at Summit is plowed out or do we have do shovel our way in? What about the camp sites themselves?

At this point how many are going?

Well, uh, we kind had a very warm "portable cabin" to retreat to . 50 degrees inside. Lots of food and beverage too!

What does that wood stove look like on the inside of the TD?
