MISTER Henry,
The General Public?!?! Ye Gads!
Naturally, I didn't mean to sound like a snob (although now I have been a teardrop owner for a more than a month, I suppose that is not inappropriate. <g>). I just assumed that we all might want to be in the same general vicinity to each other...especially because of the food that you and Vicky will be cooking for all the rest of us! :Flippin Burger: Speaking of food, which site are you thinking of getting so that I can get one that isn't too far of a walk for my coffee and breakfast each morning? ... or do you deliver? :coffee: I think Kurt was going to get either 66 or 68 if he could. I think I'll try to snag one in that same "island" that has 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 58, 60,62,64, 66, 68, and 70. I'll probably go for 13 if that is still available. If that island has all tearjerkers, we could probably set up whatever we wanted in the center grassy area in terms of a common eating or cooking area. :guzzle:

You are looking at 13 ? That makes 84 look real good ( Not so many GENERAL PUBLIC) The walk will do your new back good and by the time you get there you will have a good appetite.

However Vickie says 70 so I guess we will have to take a weekend and do a drive by.

Site 84, huh? Bob-oh-boy, I'll really be playing up my back surgery :O big time... enough that Vickie will feel so very, very sorry for me that she'll make YOU walk all that distance from 84 to bring me my breakfast every morning! On Friday I'll find out from the surgeon how much hacking up they will be doing on my spine. Thank goodness I won my spine back in the divorce (among other important body parts). 8)
Actually, site # 70 looks like a good choice from the satellite images especially with it being close to the bathroom... (for those of us "old men" with enlarged prostates!). :poop:
The park maps are hardly drawn to scale and it doesn't look like the park's guestimate on the size of each campsite comes very close to matching the satellite images. Oh well. Hey, if you do the driveby you mentioned you might do, perhaps you could measure each site plus take a picture of all of them so we know what we are getting in to????
:snappy: :rofl2:
Later!!

And that's where people differ, everyones talking about the inner circles. I have to be on an outer circle with full shade and no one behind me.
I'm thinking site 12 I was thinking 54, 121 or 119 but they say they have a dirt surface. Click on the site details when you pick.

Kurt do those dirt spots in the middle of the circle have grass in them?
The satellite photo's are old and you can't be real sure.

Those dirt spots have tall grassy looking growth in them. I don't know what they'll look like by July.

They aren't "clearings", I can say that much.

Shouldn't be a problem  Just be sure and book that spot as close to the opening of booking which is 6 months in advance (Jan 31) that way someone who isn't on this board or not with the group at all doesn't get a chance to book it out from under you.

Scott,
When I go camping, I typically like the outer sites too with no one behind me and more trees. For this extravaganza, I just want to be fairly close to all the cooking Bob and Vickie will be doing ... so If I'm somewhere in the middle, I won't have as far to walk. <g>

That's the beauty of booking so early you have the pic of the campground.
And I'll not miss the food  (well maybe breakfast  )

Now I just need to come up with a dish to prepare for the pitch in

One thing to consider when booking your site. Some of the sites are off level (as pointed out in the reviews ) so read the site description to see the levelness of the site.

In the area where we are there are "level" sites, and "moderate slope" sites. If in doubt, call the park.
This post isn't meant to scare anybody off, but it's always a good idea to take notice id the site description.

Booking can start as early as Jan. 31 which is 6 months in advance.

I'm going up on Thursday (Jul 30) so I'll get mine one day sooner.

I'm ready for a gathering (as soon as the snow melts and the temperature goes up about 50 degrees.) :)

Bob,
In that one picture, your lovely bride (aka your better half) is counting how many time she is going to kick your A$$ for calling her "Ol what's her name". You, my friend, know how to live dangerously yet somehow survive. :O
Hey, that's quite a towing fleet you have! :vroom:
It doesn't look like I will make it to the May event at Raccoon but I will definitely be in the Great State of Indiana for Chain O Lakes in July. If those of us in Michigan get something going up here this summer, you and Vickie will have to come up and bring along some of that fine cooking you had at the Winter Shiveree.
