Hey!
With all the talk about rain...did everyone forget that we are going to be invaded by tree huggers?? Lol! (The Earth Day clean up is Saturday)
Come on...its gonna rain, its gonna be freezing cold. Buuut...we decided to hold Cooler Near The Lake in April. So, since we are all midwesterners, we are tuff, and there is nothing a few beers can't fix!
I am looking forward to an excelent weekend with fellow teardroppers!

I've got some cheap wine, some good crackers, four tarps, and an umbrella. See ya all there!

Hi, Everyone--I just wanted to thank you for a great time! We really appreciated the warm welcome you offered to us newbies. It was so nice to meet everyone and see your trailers. Also, it seemed like there was just exactly the right amount of organization of the event--not too little, not too much!

Sorry we bugged out early--we had a family obligation at noon today (our house was the rain location) and would have had to leave early this a.m. anyway to get back for that. Wish we would have had more time to visit a little more last night, though. Maybe next year! Did the predicted gale force winds arrive?

Pat,

If the winds arrived we did not hear or feel them. It was a great nights sleep.

We also had a great time. Enjoyed meeting all and the feasts were great as always.

Looking forward to next year.

I'm seeing a trend here...sounds like there was enough wine that there could have been a hurricane & no one would have noticed... :o

Yet another way I'm compatible with other teardroppers!! I wasn't expecting the wine (thought maybe beer, or mixed drinks more than wine would be featured). Yay for wine! Dan Galvin from Indiana (the Friday p.m. wine party host) actually MAKES wine!

It is always interesting to see 10+ dutch ovens lined up with incredible food inside, but to see 10 bottles of wine lined up (and all a different variety) was equally impressive and made for a fun night. Next year maybe a little Bach or Mozart in the background :cheerswine: .

Yup! Good time was had by all. I feel kinda bad we kicked the last of the straglers out of the shelter at 10pm. I got a lot of good pictures before the rain and wind set in. Worked on the video Sunday and will post it on YouTube in a couple of hours.

Nicely done Dawn! Thanks for doing it. Also thanks for everything else you guys did .I think this was the best of the 3 "Cooler by the Lake" outings I've been to. The weather was not as bad as they predicted. Plus nice weather may have scattered the group with many more options available. Bad weather keeps the group close. If we ever get sun shine at one of these we will find out. Great food and conversation was had by all. Thanks to all that contributed.

Dawn,

That was awesome.

Again thanks for all you two did and no you should not feel like you threw us out of the shelter early. We had already decided we had put the last log on the fire before you showed up. Again thanks for all you did.

Also, I agree with Steve, this was the best of the three events we have had at K/A. It was the right mix of people and the weather kept us closer together. That shelter has been worth every penny it costs.
