We need to get our park stickers for the year, so I'll reserve the shelter while we are there.

shelter

Postby pigcooker » Sat Feb 13, 2010 11:16 am

Thanks, Dawn & Scott, for doing that, we would all be out in the cold, if you hadn't.
Thanks again, from all of us. :applause:

The shelter has been reserved for Saturday April 24th. There is a ban on firewood from more than 50 miles away. We only live 12 miles away and can bring a bunch from home for the fireplace in the shelter. Aything else that needs to done before the weekend? Oh ya, we all need to put our hands together and pray to the big guy for better weather this year. :worship:

Why do all the fun things always have happen on the same weekend!?!?

I am already skipping out of the local spring canoe race to host an Electric and Alternative Fuel Vehicle Show at our Earth Day event in Oconomowoc, WI!

I could make it out on Sunday, but probably wouldn't bring the trailer then. My tow vehicle is corroding away, and I don't trust the frame the hitch is attached to anymore!

I was out at Cooler Near the Lake, what, Two years ago?
I have an 8' Cubby, wood sides, aluminum top.

Oh well, you win some, you lose some. The Alternative Fuel thing sounds cool. Sorry about your truck. How is your trailer yet?
And yes, it was two years ago.

The trailer has taken some water discoloration on the one side. I must have just not done as good of a job sealing that side as the other.

The other side still looks really nice though. Everything else on it is fine.
I think I will add a solar panel to it this summer - Make it even eco-friendlier!

I want follow ups on the solar. I have been watching the thread on the 80 watt panel up in electrical. Seems like a great idea.

Guess I mentioned this in another thread -- scratch the booking for site #11. I can't make it. (darned surgery, with 6 week recovery time!)

solar Panels

Postby dwe » Wed Mar 17, 2010 8:59 pm

We bought a set of 3 solar panels lst year from Hrbor Freight. We use them to keep the battery charged because we camp in northers Wisconsin in the National Forest Campgrounds. The totl is 45 watts. They work good.
