Hoosier Chapter October Gathering - Summit Lake State Park

I had a chance to look at the campground a Summit Lake State Park today. This is the same park where the January "Shiveree" was held but it looks a lot more inviting (to me) in the summer.

The count attendance is not known however, the area from site #31 to #55 would make a good place for our gathering.

These sites are wooded with good shade and are all relatively near the Comfort Station in "Area B".

There some off level sites just as there are at any campground and these are all gravel sites.

Let me know if this sounds good.

If this sounds good to the group, we should finalize it and start making reservations for period Oct 8-11.

Due to popular reaction, the Fall gathering at Summit Lake is official.

Reserve sites in Loop "B". Approximate area of the gathering near sites #31 to #55.

There are two "loops" at Summit Lake. We will be in loop "B".

I'll post a web site so you can get a better look at the layout of the campground.

Can someone smarter than me link that site to google earth. I was leaning towards 30 or 32 but would like to have some shade since we will probably bring the "Greenhouse" ( Chubby) " . It would be nice to have a earth shot of campground "B" area.

I reserved site #39 for the Summit Lake Gathering.

They all looked to be shaded so Bob won't cook in the sunshine. 8)

I've tent camped several times at Summit Lake and Campground B is an awesome place for a gathering. I think almost every site is shaded. If you have a small flat bottom boat, you can usually put in at the back of half of the outside sites. Try not to forget anything because you're a pretty good drive from anything but a small camp store.

I probably won't be done with my tear by then. But I only live a half hour away and would like to come out on Saturday and see everybody's rigs.
