Dan, I'll take a trip to the park to check it out hopefully this fall.

Usually the Spring gathering is the third week in May.

I liked Spring Mill (what I saw of it) but that was the gathering when I had my ruptured disc attack  . At least I know where the nearest hospital is. Bedford, IN.

There are several "loops" in the camping area that I'd like to see so that we can fit everyone in.

There is some good back country cruising to be had close to the park including the white river valley and the big train tunnel at tunnelton. White river is good for a nice paddle for anyone wanting to bring their yacks and canoes. of coarse that is subject to the level of the river as it can get quite large at times.FYI this is the east fork of the white river, not the branch that flows through all the industrial district and landfill in Indy..

I took a road trip to Spring Mill today.
The map above shows the camping areas with electricity.

The area that looked like a good place for the gathering is the "Loop" to the left side of the picture.

Sites #1 through #48 are a self enclosed area that should hold more than enough campers for the spring gathering.

Please review the map and comment on the location.

Sounds like a plan and a good area, I wouldn't suggest sites 50-57ish if anyone thinks about it. The sites aren't bad really but we stayed on site 53 last summer and there is a lot of traffic going right past your site .

I'm ready, so we can book up to 6 months ahead am I correct in saying this?

Location for the Spring Gathering, May 20-23, 2010

You can choose any site in the park, but these will keep us closer together as a group.

Let us know what site you reserved so a map can be made up.

On line reservations will be open in a few days.

Here's an up date of sites that are in a nice group and a couple that should be avoided as potential river land if it rains, thanks again for that info John.
