One of the last 1/2 dozen to leave we rolled out about 2:30 putted home and arrived 5:30 or 6 ish. We took a 45 tour of McCormick Creek State park since we were within eyesight of the main gate as we rolled home.

This HAS TO BE the park for the summer 2011 gathering. There really and truely is NOT a bad sight in this whole park. Trees are 18" to 4 ' in diameter and they would have to pipe in sunlight. It is gorgeous. You can see your next door neighbor if you stick your head thru the new growth between sites. Each site is all but private. We took a few pics I will try and get them on line Wednesday.

Nathan and Scott great pics :applause:

Was great to see our camping family again and a special thank you to all the day trippers that stopped in to visit with us. Now you know what you are missing " GET BUILDIN' "

We sure did enjoy the gathering and are loving everyone's pictures - we hope to have ours posted tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for your hospitality - you made a couple of Kentuckians feel real welcome up in Hoosierville. Scott and Kurt - y'all always know how to put on a great gathering.

Greg and Lisa - it was so nice to meet y'all and welcome another couple of Tearjerkers into the Bluegrass Chapter.

Take care, and we hope to see everyone around the campfire soon!
Carter, Susan, and The Hankster

Great time !!!!!!!!

We wanted to say that we were very impressed by the whole gathering. I have never been more welcome anywhere in my life. Lisa and I both want to thank everyone for the family friendly event. We really can not remember the last time we had a better time. I wish I could have been alittle more organized when it came to getting around to everybody, but I found it hard not talking too much to all the wonderful people. I learned alot, and had a great time. I know awards don't really mean anything, and this may sound silly but, being awarded the award for best father and son project made me feel alittle emotional. I just wish my dad could have been there. He would have loved it. I would also like to add that my wife had not been camping in our tear before, but she loved it. I think she is hooked. I have all you wonderful people to thank for that. All the help I recieved from the forum while building, :applause: and for the great weekend. I am now a Bluegrass chapter member, but I know I am also a hoosier at heart. Thank you very much. Greg and LIsa Prater

Greg & Lisa, Thanks for the kind thoughts and words about the gathering. We all have a great time.
The relaxing and talking is all part of the fun. I always hate to pack up and go home but I know I have to after each gathering.

I'm really glad you had a good experience at your first gathering , especially for Lisa. First impressions are important no matter what gathering you attend.

Your job now is to promote the teardrop spirit and attend as many as you can.
Your (Bluegrass) chapter is new but it has all the potential of any chapter.

With the leadership of Carter and Susan, I know you'll have fun closer to home but don't forget that you're always welcomed here in Indiana.

Hope to see you soon.

Bob, Thanks for scouting out McCormick's Creek.

We had our first "Indiana" gathering there and I'd like to go back (without the full weekend rain).

It would be ideal for the spring gathering since it's in South western Indiana.
Here is amap of the campground to look at.

We were in the #102 area last time.

Loop B has 63 site, heck we could put a good dent in filling the section and it looks pretty shady.
 Still a year off and we're thinking about a gathering

The wine and cheese party was a bit damp but with the right frame of mind and the proper attire you can still have a good time !

Bella and I got home safely yesterday afternoon without any further incident. My "best road repair" award is on the wall above my work bench.

I want to thank everyone for the warm welcome and friendly company. I had a lot of fun and look forward to camping with the Hoosiers again soon. Found out my daughter is coming home on August 5 into Seattle so I'll be heading east. Possibly Profets Town though ~ I'll watch for details.
