I guess I was assuming most people were also members of the Tearjerkers forum. Wrong!
I'm responding via my cellphone because my computer caught a virus and is being cleaned and disinfected. Once that is done, I'll copy and paste the post about the Michigan gathering over here.
Thanks!

Let's see if I can copy and paste...

Are you ready for some TEARDROP camping…
...done the Michigan way????

The Great Lakes Chapter invites you to our first gathering of 2010!

WHEN:
Friday August 13 through Sunday August 15, 2010.

WHERE:
Bishop Lake Campground at the Brighton Recreation Area in Southeastern Michigan’s Livingston County.
6360 Chilson Road – Howell, MI 48843.
Take I-96 to exit 147 at Brighton. Go west approximately 6 miles to Chilson Road, and drive south 1 1/2 miles to Bishop Lake Road to the park.
GPS Coordinates: N42 30.319 W83 50.658
Campground phone number: 810-229-6566

This is a beautiful campground that I have stayed at a couple times in the past. I think you’ll really like it.

The website says, “Brighton Recreation Area provides 4,947 acres of recreation for park visitors to use. The area has a combination of high, irregular ranges of hills, interspersed with a number of attractive lakes. Brighton Recreation Area has several miles of trails available for equestrian, mountain biking, and hiking. Oak forest, thick hedgerows and open spaces blend on the uplands while grassy marshes, shrub marshes and dense swamp timber mark the lowlands.â€

45 DAYS until SPLASHDOWN!

The Deepest spot in Lake Superior, the largest of the Great Lakes is 1,333 feet or about 222 fathoms. This profound depth could easily contain the entire 1,250' Empire State Building, even with a 50-foot-tall King Kong perched atop.

10 MORE DAYS to go is absolutely correct! Time is slipping by so please make your reservations for the biggest and best teardrop gathering Bishop Lake has had all summer.

Jeff,
For some reason, I didn't click on your link for Tony's.

Now that I have, WOW, I am even more excited to take everyone there a week from Saturday.

Even if you are not coming to my Great Lakes Tearjerker gathering at Bishop Lake Campground in the Brighton Recreation Area, meet us up at Tony's for lunch a little after noon on Saturday, August 14. We'd love to see you there!

site 93 will be occupied by my teardrop

Postby csgmtu » Fri Aug 06, 2010 10:48 pm

I made my reservation today and I will be located in #93. I have a simple teardrop that I built 2 years ago (nothing fancy but it is nice). I live in Brighton (10 minutes from the campground) and I have enjoyed this State park many times.
I am looking forward to my first gathering. I may join the journey to Tony's if I can find my 12V defibrillator. :)

Chris,

Glad you can make it!!! :applause: I'll have the campsite map on the Tearjerker's thread updated. I'm glad you like that park.

Please note that we might not do the Tony's and Bronner's trip on that Saturday. It might be a little too long of an excursion for most people, especially when doing a lot of cooking for the potluck that night. Please review http://tearjerkers.net/forums/viewtopic ... 6&start=60 for any updates or changes for the gathering.

See you next week!
