I'm thinking it could also become problematic at our upcoming gathering. I wonder if we could reach consensus that CNTL V should be a politics-free zone?

Pat,

Probably a good thing I won't be there... :o

Believe me Pat, I have no dog in your fight up there. We Flatlanders have a different set of problems here. Fourteen billion of them. I won't even tell the joke I made up about your problems unless I am asked!
We will have a great time. Most everyone knows each other and if things get heated we just tell our best wedding story and have some tea!

If that does not work we will talk about Betsey!

OMG, I was hoping CI campground once over by Craig!!!

Of couse, you can say stop by while on the road, yes, but that is not the same. Besides would cost me a lot of time and probably dollars. So, Camp Ground service is much better.

Well it's just a week away so I dug the trailer out of the barn where it spent the winter. Cleaned out the inside, did the laundry and remade the bed. Re loaded the galley with all the stuff that could have frozen. Installed my indoor outdoor thermometer. Installed a new shelf with shoe storage so no more dirty shoes on the bed. Added a towel bar and paper towel holder in the galley. See they are never finished. So I am all ready to take off . Does anyone think I need to bring a snow shovel?

Well, one year Jack & Nancy talked about bringing their snow blower, so what does that tell you?

Most of the snow from Tuesday has now melted but we are supposed to get more tonight/tomorrow. :o

Hopefully, Kohler will be snow free & warm(er) by next weekend.

I'm thinking boots for the mud and a rain slicker for sure based on history and the weather report. Maybe we will get a break for sure by Sunday.

Here is what I did Tina, Just made a light weight shelf out of mostly dowel rods. The 2 baskets were from the Container store. They did not go together but they fit. It's a woven basket with a plastic tub inside. There is one on each side. You can see the rubbermaid tub I use to use sitting on the mattress where the shoes would spend the night. Now I can spread out!

Postby OuttaHand » Sun Apr 24, 2011 9:11 am

I've been working on the "Little Tow" in hopes of making it to the campout. The door fought me! A LOT! Here's my build log with details . . .
http://webpages.charter.net/outtahand/littletow/build20.htm

So the big question right now is: If I just bolt the other door in place and use a tarp for my hatch cover, are there any sites left near the group?

Hurrying the build is silly now if there's no place for us to be anyway!

I'm thinking I may just put some skinny bolts with wide washers in the seam between the door and the walls to hold it in place. Some duct tape on the seam will keep it from being too breezy.

For the hatch, it's probably gonna just be a tarp.

Of course there's one HUGE detail yet to be determined. We have yet to hook this thing to our little Dodge Caliber to see if it can even pull it!!!! I'd sure like to have a couple short little pulls to test it out before trying to tow it 100 miles each way to/from the campout!

This week is going to determine a lot as to whether we show up at the campout with a trailer to camp ---- or we just show up Saturday to meet people and have a photo album in hand.

BUT I WANT TO RE-STATE MY ORIGINAL QUESTION: Are there still spots available near the group???

Yea, try to bring the trailer. We can always help offer some building tips if you need that. Take it for a ride around your house and see how it works. If all is good, your in. If not come and visit anyway. We will have more then enough food!

See Ya Soon!

My personal preference of remaining sites in this order. 6-5-14-3-1. I checked the park yesterday and the only site with snow provided is site 22, everyone else will have to bring their own or haul it from the main parking lot. There is enough snow on the edge of the parking lot for everyone. Yesterday was clean up day and there were many volunteers cleaning the park. It should look very nice when we get there. If you can, get there as early on Friday as practical because that sounds like the best day so far, sunny and in the high 50's.
There is room in the park for anyone who decides at the last minute to show up. It wont be right near us but there are so many really nice sites that no one would be disappointed
