Doors and hatch you say? Duct tape and plastic!!! Perfect fit every time. You'll make it. We will be in 18. Be cool at cooler near the lake!

I am tempted to use that method for the hatch. But I don't know about the doors. I think I want something just a bit more substantial there!

I'm gonna try to get at it soon here. I need inspiration for the hinges at this point. I need to figure out the best hinge/seal/latch method. I've been doing my research and have some good leads. I just need a good source for hinges, I think.

I don't want to use piano hinges because I've read that the weatherstrip foam on the hinge side gets crushed too much and won't last. So I'm gonna do a bit more research then hit the stores to find the right ones. If I can get doors on it in time, we just might show up with a tarp and duct tape hatch!!!

It has been confirmed.
It will be me plus 4.
If any one knows me - those plus 4 are not of the two-legged variety.

Hmmmm . . . does this have something to do with Wisconsin's version of the Iditarod ?

OK Dianne,
Another confirmed camper :applause:
Maybe, this one can help Bella and Brutus chase squirels, or help with leftovers. :)

Doug! They are monsters! (Well the new one is)
I will state that right up front. The new one is a monster.
I am terrible with names (I am sorry) but there is someone that has a Boston Terrier at this gathering. Nicest dog ever. Caml, obedience, well behaved, listens.
Well - the Boston Terrorist I am getting is nothing like theirs.
Jude will chase the squirels and Bells and Brutus and children and leaves and ...
This will be his first gathering. (First time camping). Does anyone want to toliet paper him??!

Ok guys its less than a month away. The flowers are poking through the dirt and remaining snow. Sounds like Mr Weatherman is predicting about a 60 deg weekend.

So what's for dinner?
I will start the potluck list off:
Carol - Some type of DO (stick to your ribs) stew with soft dippin bread.

Just keep adding to the list!
Counting down the days. Do we have the movie list and set up figured out yet?

Potlucks list (sign-up) posted

Postby tearhead » Mon Apr 04, 2011 9:29 pm

This evening I posted a list for the three communal events, for anyone who would like to indicate what you plan to bring. Don't worry--you're not locked in if you say you're bringing a particular dish and then feel otherwise inspired. Here's the link to that thread:
http://mikenchell.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=43384

For new people (that was me last year:) those would be the Friday evening wine/cheese, the Saturday breakfast, and the Saturday evening potluck. All events take place in the shelter.

Just wondering...

Postby tearhead » Sun Apr 10, 2011 7:11 pm

I am finding lately (because people tell me things) that solidly established positive social relationships are becoming very strained due to people's voicing strongly held views (both ways) on the recent events at the state capital. It's definitely affecting things at my church. I understand that it's also pretty heated at the volunteer fire department here. :wacky

I'm thinking it could also become problematic at our upcoming gathering. I wonder if we could reach consensus that CNTL V should be a politics-free zone?

Pat....
With the wedding of Prince Andrew and Kate Middleton at that time I can't see us talking about anything but that. I promise no politics from me.

I understand the need to remain civil, and I appriciate the problem as the state gets more divided along political lines. On the other hand, I have a problem commiting to not exchanging views with someone on any subject all weekend. Our campsite will be open to any discussions, with the expectations that people remain civil, and no cigar smoking in front of the women.
