Postby Kurt (Indiana) » Tue Nov 09, 2010 8:44 pm

I'd like to announce a "Major" gathering being planned by the Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, and West Virginia Chapters for the mid summer of 2011. .

This is an "open gathering" and we are inviting campers from all locations around the USA.

We are planning this event for July 14-17, 2011 .

UPDATE (11/12/2010)

Here is a "web Site Link" for the Gathering.
You can follow the registration forms for details regarding "Camping Fees".

Please post, or PM, or, email any of the directors with questions.

We want this to be a fun and relaxing gathering that you can all enjoy.

Please come join us in July at the "Crossroads of America 2011"

Looks like McCormick's Creek State Park (Spencer, IN) is for the location for the gathering.

It's a beautiful park and should be very well suited for the gathering.

Bring your whole group.

Reservations will be made for a "Group" so all you'll need to do is fill out the registration form. (When it's ready).

Stay tuned.........

Looked at the calendar and I think it's open for that date - we are not a teardrop but a tiny trailer - the green lantern should be finished by then 8)

"OPEN GATHERING" was the operative word ! The planning committee is working with the T@B groups and the serro Scotty groups to coordinate a hugh blowout. I have been priviledged to be invited into the inner scantom of the planning committee and they are pulling out all the stops. The directors from 6 states are deeply involved in making this the big one. As you leave MO grab Nathan and Auntie M and drag them along!

Trudy, the gathering is certainly "open" for all kinds of trailers. Please keep this in mind, it should be a good one.

Starleen2, Please do come to the gathering and you'll be right at home. We have many non-teardrop trailers in the area and they are always part of the group.

Stay tuned for details.

Kurt,
Any idea how many spots we'll have at our disposal? I'd be more than happy to spread the word to the members on our growing little forum of the *new* Serro Scottys. I'm sure Alan McDowell will be more than happy to spread the word to the T@B forum.

The park, McCormick's Creek, has 63 sites on Loop "B" and has 118 sites in Loop "A".

My intention is to reserve as many as we think are needed as a "Group" reservation.
I'll need to call "reservations" on Jan 14, 2011 as soon as they open to reserve the estimated sites for July 14-17.

It looks as if we could fill up the park if we need to. We have a lot to choose from at the campground.

As Jan 14, 2011 approaches, I should be able to make a (semi-accurate) judgement. I don't want over estimate but I want to give everyone a shot a a camp site.

The extra ones (in case of an over estimate) would need to be cancelled (for a fee, I'm sure). Still working on that detail.

It's going to be an interesting day on Jan 14th.

Everyone is welcomed so "spread the word".

I see, so you're just going to do one mass reservation? Will they then assign the sites? And payment? Sorry for the questions...just gathering some info before I take the it to my peeps.

The sites can be picked from those available at the time by calling me.

There is a website (not yet published) that will have a "registration page".

You can pay by check . A receipt will be mailed back to you for your records.
You could also use "Paypal" (at a small paypal fee of 3%).

You'll see more details very soon.

Most sites are gravel with lots of shade.

Hope this helps.

Hell yeah!! Only 8 1/2 hours from our house, this'll be doable for us. I'll keep this one on the radar screen. I've always wanted to go to one of yooz gize gatherings but the dates seem to always conflict with other plans.

Jeff, Don't forget... there will likely be a "long Distance" award.
Please bring all your friends.

Get a big caravan from Kansas. The gathering is about 25 minutes South of I-70.

This should be a fun gathering.

Stay tuned for more details.
