Well we are starting to roll, be it ever so slowly. Where are the rest of the Land of Lincoln teardroppers and those that want to be? If you are a member from another chapter we want you too. This is a great park, you will not be disappointed.

So far this may be a small event, hopefully more will join in.

What would ya'll think of a Theme Dinner? Mexican, Italian, BBQ, :Flippin Burger:

Cajun, Steamed, Smoked, Just Desserts, Etc. Got any suggestions ?

Doug

That's a great idea. My choices would be BBQ , Mexican or Italian.

I will make an offer to the group. I have a large smoker/grill that I can bring.
The van will be my tow vehicle, with the smoker stored inside. I would be willing to supply and smoke Baby back ribs or Beer Can Chicken for the group. If the others will make the sides and Doug sings some country songs we could have a real party!
I can smoke 6 slabs flat or 10-15 using racks. A slab should feed 2-3 people with all the other sides there will be. Beer Can Chicken about 8 maximum. We could also set up a grill for those who want another kind of meat. I could even bring a Weber kettle grill as long as I have the truck.
Also as long as the smoker is there we could make pizza for anyone that is interested Friday night. Or anything else for that matter. What do ya'll think?

How about the others sing some country tunes, and I make a side dish. :laughter: Friday pizza is a great idea too!!! Nan usually gets Cheezits for dinner. I have beer and BBQ potato chips. What do you use for pizza crust, Steve? I use Tortillas and cook em on the gas grill.
Let us know I'll help with the pizza fixins.

Pizza's sound great for Friday night! Let us know what we can chip in also...breadsticks, salad????

Jerry & I can make some beans in the dutch oven to go with the ribs/chicken. Or something else???

We can also make a DO desert while cooking the beans...It's fun to stack the ovens.

Looking forward to seeing everyone!

Great , pizza it is. I have only used the Pillsbury crust in a tube, but would sure try Doug's way with tortillas. Or we can have both and do a taste test. The grill will hold 2 large pizzas at one time. Or we can make some individual appetizer ones. These were pulled pork pizzas. This would allow everyone to experiment.

Or maybe some Atomic Buffalo Turds....
Just split a Jalepeno and fill cith cream cheese (after cleaning)
Put a cocktail smokie link on top and wrap with bacon Smoke for an hour and a half. These go great with Doug's Beer!

We can decide later which meat to do once we see how many people we get. Maybe once people see how well we eat the group will get bigger. The more the merrier.
