Breakfast

Postby prohandyman » Mon Oct 10, 2011 5:38 pm

Thinking of cooking up sausage gravy and biscuits Sunday am. Maybe some cooked in the dutch oven or in a skillet. Anyone hungry?

Great Idea Dan. An "end of the season" breakfast sounds good to me.

I can cook up some biscuits in the DO.

Anyone else want to chip in for a final season breakfast?

I can make some "Bloody Marys".

Wow, what a windy weekend. Thanks to everyone who showed up and "toughed" out the crazy weather at Mississinewa Lake.

We had some group discussions regarding the 2012 Gathering schedule and here are some of the Campgrounds that we discussed.

For the spring gathering:Charlestown State Park or Harmonie State Park (Extreme Southern IN)

Summer Gathering: Potato Creek (near South Bend)

Fall Gathering: Monroe Lake (near Bloomington)

These are parks that we haven't visited (as a group).

Within the next week or so, I plan to take a road trip to Harmonie State Park to check it out. At the same time I can look at Monroe Lake.

Potato Creek will be visited very soon also.

Our goal is to have the Spring, Summer and Fall gathering dates published in plenty of time to get reservations that are close to each other. Hopefully before the end of November 2011.

These gathering sites are still open to discussion so please comment on any other possibilities.

We had a great time on our maiden voyage in the "rat tiki" trailer. It was great to meet new friends, we look forward to next seasons get togethers!

Jeremy, glad to hear you made it home OK. The spare gas tank must have been enough to get you there.

I think everyone enjoyed seeing the "Rat Tiki" and hope to see you in the future.

Kurt, I am familiar with Charlestown and the Paynetown campground at lake Monroe. Charlestown is a young park that is not developed a lot yet. Paynetown is a great campground with modern comfert stations and plenty of space. I've never seen potato Creek but it seems appealing by looking over the website!

My photographer arrived late and didn't do a real good job.

Here is a lone shot of the campground in the background.

Thanks everybody for all of the pictures. The weather looked so "peaceful" in those shots, even though we know the wind was blowing in all directions all weekend.

It should be a lot better next spring.

My camper is sitting in a nice warm place right now and won't be out until the spring of 2012.

Hopefully, I'll be doing the "road trip" to scout out the spring gathering campground on Saturday.

I'll start a new thread for the Spring gathering when I get back.
