The gas can got us home, the gas tank has been repaired! I cut a 4"x6"x36" hole in the tank, and filled it back in with 16ga steel, and welded it back up, plenty of clearance now, I'd hope. The tank still holds 17 gallons, and that's enough since the rat rod gets great fuel mileage! (it gets 34mpg on interstate @ 70mph)
