Hellooooo,
Add Don and I to the list. 8) Not sure what we will bring to the potluck. The camper is no where near finished, so we'll see if it comes along or not.

Just a reminder that time's running out on ordering shirts for the Camp-Outt!

I need the order by this Sunday evening, September 16!

Don't miss out...you're gonna love this one!

Come & Get 'Em! Cranberries & Beeswax!

Cranberries
For those Camp-Outt attendees who are interested in getting some fresh cranberries, just let me know & I will bring some to the Camp-Outt. These are very nice, just harvested & a very good price. If you are going to Cranfest, you won't be able to get them any cheaper, as I get them from the same grower who sells them there...a family friend...plus, you don't have the hassle of carrying them around all day or taking the long hike back to your car with them.

Prices: $2.00 for 1lb bag or $9.50 for a 5lb. bulk box - payable to me at the Camp-Outt.

Beeswax
For anyone who would like to buy beeswax for seasoning their Dutch ovens (or any cast iron pieces), just let me know how much you want. It comes in 1lb blocks & is very clean -nothing but pure beeswax. Comes from another friend of mine who has an apiary. Their honey (cranberry or wildflower)is also fantastic!

$5.00/ 1 lb block (and that will last you a long time!)
$3.00/ 1/2 lb block

Please let me know by Monday, September 24 if you want cranberries and/or beeswax.

Camp-Inns, cranberries, honey & beeswax...all Wisconsin grown! :)

Pot Luck Time!

We will have our potluck dinner on Saturday about 5:30pm. Below is a list for the potluck. If you know what you will be bringing/making, please email me or post here, I will add your item to the list.

If you are unsure what to bring, that’s okay. There will be a list posted at the Camp-Outt so you can get some idea of what others are bringing and to which you can add your name and dish.

Dessert will be provided…our usual Dutch oven cobblers and homemade ice cream (but you have to help turn the crank!). :D

At this time, we are expecting about 150 people! Woo-hoo! Our largest group to date! :dancing

Just a reminder that when making a potluck dish, plan on it feeding about 6-8 people and that will make enough for everyone without a ton of leftovers.
Note: For those of you who may be cooking with a Dutch Oven, a 10" one will be plenty big enough; a 12" will feed A LOT of people!

There is a large grocery store within 10 miles of the campground in case you need supplies.

See you soon!

Betsy
I would like to be on the list for the electric site for next weekend. I would like to go for the whole time during the camp out. What other information would you need from me.
Is there spots still open yet? I have a tiny trailer CT,

Hi, Betsey!

My hubby and I will also be attending - really hoping there are some electric sites left! We will likely be a late arrival Friday night, unless we can swing taking a half day off. Our TD is ALMOST done - getting inspected by the DOT on Tuesday (I know, I know, cutting it kinda close, aren't we? lol.)

Anyway, I am not sure what I'll be bringing to the potluck, probably what some call "corn pudding" or "cornbread casserole."

See you soon!

I usually double this recipe because my family kinda goes nuts for it....

Cornbread Casserole
1 Med onion
1 stick butter
1 sm box Jiffy mix
3 eggs, beaten
1 can whole kernel corn (undrained)
1 can cream corn

Chop onion, saute in butter. Combine other ingredients, add sauteed onion and butter, mix well w/ a fork, pour into greased 8 x 8 Pyrex dish and bake at 350 until golden brown around edges and toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.

I will be adapting this to Dutch oven.... :)

If possible and only if you are able to get this I would like 5 pounds of cranberries and a pound of the beeswax. I will give you the money on this weekend.

Let me know.

Thanks Brian
