The Deepest spot in Lake Superior, the largest of the Great Lakes is 1,333 feet or about 222 fathoms. This profound depth could easily contain the entire 1,250' Empire State Building, even with a 50-foot-tall King Kong perched atop.

Checked online today and all the spots seem to be reserved. If anyone has an extra site or needs to cancel, let me know. Otherwise we may just come up for the day.

Pete.... Look on the East side of the non electric 260 thru 280 there are several sites available. It is an easy walking distance to the electric sites.

You can plug in your electric toothbrush at my site

If you need a good coleman lantern or other off grid camping stuff let me know.

Now, Bob, you do realize you're talking about a family of Boy Scouts and Eagle Scouts, right?

Hey, Pete, if you need to plug in anything, you have lots of friends who will help you. Please come on up--we miss you!

And now and entry from the "I'm so dumb" files:

I apparently can't enter dates into a search box. :embarassed: Please ignore my previous post.

We are reserved in site #90. Across the road from Gerry, Verna and Sharon. :woohoo: :awesome: :dancing :P

It will be myself, Preston and Lanee'. It should be interesting. Now to get that little trailer finished.

I gotta get busy on mine getting it ready for it's final trip, I tore out the inside walls and I'm drying them so I can paint them. Gonna give the outside a quick paint job and fix my galley lifts and I'll be all ready. After the gathering I'm thinking about selling it to my neighbor at a dirt cheap price cause he liked it for hunting and it would be a good base for him to strip down and reseal. If he doesn't want it I'll start dismanteling it the Monday after the gathering what a sad day that will be

I made it out this weekend. AWESOME! Let the season begin! 32 degrees on Thursday night was a little rough. Midnight call was brutal! However with just body heat and good blankets I was warm, even if the cabin temp was 45....

I did then cheet with a space heater (under desk electric type) that got me up to 75 easily....then I was too warm. Need a better thermostat.

Happy! Happy! Looking forward to gathering, I just hope we break out of the wet cold cycle we seem to be stuck in :(

Summit lake. Thursday night. The wooded area was soaked! I hate open fields, so I packed up and moved to mounds (in Anderson) and got by the treeline on the back side....by the bath house.

It was a good weekend. Lots of people asking about my trailer. We gave 5-10 grand tours. More than usual.

I also picked up a small kamodo grill ....looks like ill get by BBQ quota while "roughing it" this summer :). After dealing with temperature control issues Saturday, well see if that is a defect or a leaning curve issue.

Scuba gave me a real nice therostatically controlled electric heater just punch 65 to 85 in 5 degree incraments and it cycles in an out. I have used the fixed ones and regulated the inside temp by opening the window a bit to disapate some of the excess heat. I always leave a window open a dab after experiencing oxygen depravation on our winter outing where we happened to be at Mounds.
