Cooler near the lake VII

Postby BrwBier » Sun Dec 16, 2012 10:44 am

It might be time to start thinking about "Cooler Near The Lake VII". Is it going to happen? When and where? I think April 26 27 @ 28th. I am partial to Kohler-Andrea state park mostly because I live close and for the shelter in the campground. In my mind the shelter in the campground is the most important factor, so if another park is found to have similar facilities we could move. Does anyone have thoughts on a date to make a final decision?
Hey, if the weather is crappy what are you going to do anyway, just sit in the house or come and have a great time with old and new friends?

Thanks for posting in one of the old "Cooler by the Lake" threads. I haven't been on the forum in a while.
We had a baby, and I didn't get my teardrop out ONCE this past summer!

Would love to get out and see all the other teardroppers this spring!

I was waiting for the first of the year before I posted about COOLER, but thanks for starting a thread. The last weekend in April is Friday the 26th, Saturday the 27th and Sunday the 28th so start putting it on your calendars.

I will reserve the shelter the first week of January and people can then start registering for camp sites. I am planning on reserving for just Saturday night, but like this past year if we feel we may need it Friday night also and the park does not want to accommodate us as in past years, I will march down to the office and get it for that night also.

Cooler by the Lake will continue as long as I am around and you guys want me to continue to act as the contact person.

BrwBier get your home brew ready.

We're in! Wouldn't miss it! I like the plan for the shelter reservation for Saturday with a "we'll see" for Friday. Maybe it'll be warmer near the lake for a change :).

UPDATE: Reserved site 8 for Friday and Saturday nights.

OK, we are off and running. I have reserved site 009. I will be staying Thursday (April 25th), Friday and Saturday nights. I will start a list of all who has indicate their intent to attend and as you make your camp site reservation what your site number is.

Last year we had 20 trailers, let's see how many we can get here this year.

Can't miss it!!! We will definitely plan for it. We were there 11/30 - 12/2. The office said some one booked the shelter for a wedding on 4/20/13. Kinda put a skip to my heart. LET"S GO!!!

I missed this my first read. Do we need to plan a special celebration?

Will it involve an awesome home brew?

I said the best year for me. I will be retiring at the end of march. You just don't know how good that feels. As for the beer, I have plenty of time to brew so what kind of beer do you want? I have some that is just getting ready to drink now that I call whats left in the cupboard. I made that just to clean up a bit. I can try to make any kind that most people would like, so I will take suggestions. Maybe we can vote. I will also make one of my choice.
See you all then, and I hope we also have some home made wine or what ever you make at home, we won't tell.

Beer would be a Harp (Irish) like and wine would be a Shiraz (Dry Red with a touch of something different in the taste).

Congrats of the retirement :applause: see you on Thursday then? Oh and yes I do know how good it feels.

Come help BrwBier celebrate his retirement, reservation can be made here; http://wisconsinstateparks.reserveameri ... kCode=kohl

We have the shelter for Saturday night.

Grant, you made me nervous so I just got off the phone and the shelter is now rented. It is now a $100 a day. Once we have a weather forecast (10 days before) we can decide if we feel it is necessary to get it Friday also. If we get 20 trailers again then the shared cost is $5 a night.

One of our problems last year was the park not wanting to give us the keys until Saturday when their office opens at 9 AM. This makes it difficult for our morning breakfast. Dennis or Cheryl if you are still a member of the park's friends when you see this discussion could you sometime see if the park would be interested in accommodating us?

And to think only two weeks after I put the tear away for the winter I am already psyched about dragging it out for camping. :?
