Welcome Brian and Audrey,

Nice to be able to now identify who was on site 10.

Nice looking Merc. I grew up learning to ski on a Johnson 25 horse on the back of a 12 foot Thompson wooden boat. I now boat with a 155 horse 15 foot jet boat. I'm sure we will talk boats at Cooler. There are a lot of boat people towing teardrops although most are into kayaks. I have discussed with some of our group having a tear can-yak (canoes and kayaks) gathering sometime in summer when so few gathering take place because it can be to warm.

Happy Holidays

Gary

We are now 8! Who will be next? Where are the regulars?

We've been meaning to get back up to the Brule river during the summer - it's great for canoes and kayaks....we'd be game if a gathering evolves.

If you pay attention to the LOL "Land of Lincoln" chapter they are always talking about "This is a nice park and we should try that" kind of a thing. People who have camped all over and seen great parks and tell others get us motivated. I have always felt we need more than two Wisconsin events. My personal favorite Wisconsin park is Devils Lake. Great hiking and non motorized boating area.

We personally make most of LOL's events and at least one of the Minnesota events that Tim so graciously organizes.

This is a really big (distance wise) Tearjerker chapter. It is 771 miles from Kenosha Wisconsin to Saint Vincent Minnesota and we seem to have developed two different camping groups within the one chapter because of the distances. Several years ago we had an event upon our Tearjerker's chapter namesake river, the St. Croix. Several nice parks there and many right on the river. We had 8 to 10 canoes and kayaks show up in addition to those Tearjerkers that just wanted to camp. Might be nice to try and have an event that unites our groups. Great group of people over there and a lot of them have an interest in boats of some sort. Most of our Minnesota Tearjerkers are located in Minneapolis/St. Paul area. The area around Tomah, La Crosse, Winona seems to be central to both groups. Must be some water in the area that would attract a bunch of people with canoes and kayaks and can provide us with good camping.

LOL has the following events scheduled for this year. June 12-15TH Galena Illinois - AUGUST 7-9th Kickapoo State Park near Danville Illinois - September 5-7th Tears By the River, Thomson Illinois - October 9-12th Sauk Trail State Park near Kewanee Illinois The only other scheduled event in our area is Camp Inn Camp Out the last weekend in September. July is wide open.

Open to ideas. Anyone?

Duke,

Good to hear your coming. When I think of Schumi and his troubles our days as course marshals often come to mind. This is the time of year memories surface as we look back at the past. It's good to see you and Laurie will be just across the street. We'll have lots to talk about with new series starting at Daytona not to mention Porsche back with a Le Mans prototype.

Gary

We are now 10!

God be with you and your family Shumi.

Gary, I really like the beard!!!!

Chuck and I are booked into site 005. We might bring our other dog Brego, a lab mix who is 9 but is pretty darn active, more like a 3 year old than an older guy!

Al and Annie Masco are booked into site 002. See y'all soon!

Theresa,

Beard gone. I mean when you have someone like Steve comparing me to Al Boreland when I was thinking Robert Redford as Jeremiah Johnson.

Oh well :( .

Actually I couldn't wait until December came as it was driving a little nuts. I'm not really a beard kind of a guy and besides I kept playing with my face  .
