I know, you were just thinking about how sad you are that camping season is just finishing and you're getting the trailer ready for a long winter's rest. Well stop that and get out the sun glasses 8) and sun tan lotion cause we're heading into new camping year; number 8 at the lake. Bob get the beer ready :wine: Dennis quash any Sheboygan thoughts of happy soon to be married couples wanting to use our wonderful shelter for a Friday night :frightened: and the rest of you sign up for that favorite spot of yours. :awesome: Lets get this party rolling :P .

Tim - counter proposal.

Toby and Sue always had ING the first weekend in June. That would be Saturday May 31 and Sunday June 1st (first full weekend in June conflicts with a Land of Lincoln event we would like to attend). If you promise to attend "Cooler" Cheri and I will promise to attend ING.

Win-Win-Win. I get our chapter's co-director over here to meet some great people, You get us (maybe not the best deal), and a great event gets a re-boost.

Hello! Bob, I and our border collies (Belle and Watson) would love to attend 2014's event. While we weren't able to make 2013's, we did get a chance to drive out to the park in early April to take a look-see. Bob is retired so it doesn't matter, but for a weekend I have to ask for time off 6 months in advance (which is the earliest I can do so).

We reserved spot #8 this year - looking forward to it! We have a trip to New Orleans area planned for February with our teardrop, and hopefully 1 or 2 more fall trips and 1 in January.

Deb and Bob------------glad you had a chance to find out how great this park is. When you reserve a spot let us know so we can let people know who they are camping by and welcome to a great event. I am guessing that at least half the people will not come until Friday night so don't feel you need to take vacation time and come on Thursday unless you really want to.

Mike and Michelle ------------looking forward to seeing you for your second Cooler by the Lake. Cheri and I will be over at Gilberts on the afternoon of the 16th for a Revolutionary War unit meeting. If you're in the neighborhood you should drop by.

It's official, we've got our spot reserved for Friday and Saturday----#88. Since we have the dogs, and after checking out the campground and aerial photos, #88 looked more roomy and a bit off the beaten path. Never fear though, our border collies are not allowed to bark, run amok or be left unattended. As for Bob and me, we're pretty quiet, organized and keep a tidy camp (and we don't run amok either :R ).

Welcome to the family Deb and Bob. You picked a good site (there really is't a bad site) and we stayed in that area our first Cooler. It has a little more woodsy feeling in that direction and very few people will camp in that direction as the warm heated rest rooms are in the first loop only. Don't be surprised if you have turkeys or a deer visit you. You will love going for walks with the dogs through the small hills in that direction.

Also make sure you plan time to take the dogs for a walk up and over the board walk that goes over the dunes. This is about a mile walk and then you can take the dogs down onto the beach and let them play along the lake. The park does not allow dogs on the beach immediately in front of the dunes. You will receive a brochure with their rules for dogs when you arrive. The rules are all logical and we have never had problems with our Brittany Finnegan. I have never yet walked across the dunes and not come across a small herd of deer. This is really a great park that would be impossible for our large of a group to get into during the summer.

Gary and Cheri, Thanks for the Welcome :) We're looking forward to meeting new teardroppers, and seeing different styles of teardrop campers. I got to looking for my photos I took when we visited the park last spring, and it was actually early March when we were there. There was still snow drifts everywhere, and only the first loop was accessible. The park road was blocked off before the turn at the second loop. Can't wait to see what the rest of the park looks like-----the rest of the campground areas should be open by the time of the CBTL gathering?

Did take the dogs to the dog permitted part of the beach, ----since there was nobody out there, we took the leashes off (while supervising them----no running off into the dunes, etc.) so they could play in the water. Both dogs, and especially our blue merle Belle, are regular water ninjas. Would have been to cold for Bob or me, but the dogs were in doggie heaven.

We were just stopping by on a trip through the area, so we didn't have time to take advantage of the other trails and wildlife viewing opportunities-----looking forward to it during the this year's gathering. On the way home, we also drove through HighCliff State Park---wow, is that nice park!

Hi

We'll be there....we are in site #18.

We sold the 5x10 teardrop and got a TTT (13ft. Fiberglass).

Getting older it was getting tough pulling my pants on laying down.

We had a side tent, but going this route with a standee, is just easier.
