With the gentle hum of a small fan assisted ceramic heater you just might surprise yourself how good you will sleep. You might wake up with the sun in your eyes.

Hell I have the barn in the yard maybe I ought to try the same thing.

 Sounds Familiar I seem to remeber waking up Sunday to -1 and someone slipping away in the middle of the night. I was so warm in the camper that year I had to sleep on top of the cover in my undies

I've slept in 27 degree with a heater it was reasonably comfortable. I did try to make it through the night with nothing, that wasn't going to happen. I would imagine if you pre heat with a ceramic though it would be pretty comfortable.

The only problem I can see is condensation....the perpetual foe in RVs an TTs. If stinks when it starts raining inside...

It got down to 19* at last year's Shiveree. I kept one window cracked about 1", and the vent open just a bit. A small space heater and a fan near the ceiling pushing the heated air down kept me warm. No condensation. I had to keep a pillow in front of the window to keep the breeze off of my back, but that was fine. I love my down alternative comforters.

Nope not this weekend... re-learning to walk, bad roads, and TOO cold temps...

I been camping "Big Truck Style" since early November up north of St. Paul/Minneapolis
places like Hillsboro,ND and Crookston.MN.wake ups have been as low as -34 F :o :D
It's a sweet deal....
hauling 50,000 pounds of sugar behind ya...!!!
Ya just don't know how much of that stuff goes into the things we eat and drink !!

Like; 1,000,000 pounds a day; JUST for Kool-Aid !!! That's 5 rail cars !

I wasn't gonna have time to TD it this weekend; just a visit on Saturday..gotta be back at it Sunday..
off to Virginia to haul some whole wheat and white flour to bakeries and such...

Everyone stay home; safe and warm...C you in the spring !!!

I know this decision has been a disappointment for you die hard shivaree campers, but it is best to be safe than sorry. Back yard camping is a great idea, just knowing you can run inside out of the cold if you need to. From the looks of the weather reports, staying in and staying warm sounds like a great weekend. Sorry everyone, better luck nextt time.

I like postponed as well. Even if we go as late as march it's still pretty hard core. Nights in the 20s aren't uncommon, it's still shiveree...

As soon as I get rid of this bronchitis, I'll be ready for The Postponed 2014 Shiveree.

Sorry to hear you're sick Verna. I guess you wouldn't have been going anyway. Take care of yourself and I hope you feel better soon.

Never did make it to the backyard! The idea of wrestling the storage cover off Gertrude in the cold did not appeal to me, and the more I thought about sleeping out there without the ability to open the vent, the more I decide my kids did not need to become orphans yet! So I really like the idea of a postponed Shivaree!

I'm sure those who really want to go will find an alternative date. (like Miami in February)

Just kiddin'. I never go anyway but a new date is still not out of the question.

I'm up for a new date for the 2014 Shiveree. Of course, it would be so nice if it were in Florida or somewhere south right now!!!! But, I'm ready for some camping.
