Scott,

Sorry to hear about your misfortune...

You and Dan be careful now, we don't want to start a trend here... :frightened:

Dan, you got around pretty well when we were at Starve Hollow on our "Scouting Mission". Ever since you had your knee surgery, mine have been sore. Must be sympathy pains.

It could be "old age" setting in. I only have one sore knee and the other one is the same age so that's probably not it. :NC

I hope everyone made it through the "Cold Snap" we just had. :snowstorm:

Not to worry, we have only 127 days left until our Spring Gathering at Turkey Run. 8)

Everyone take it easy and get healed up we have a great camping season coming up this year. Cold snap seems like an understatement. I spent a few days up in Dan Galvins area outside most of the time working on gelled up frozen plow trucks. Wind chills were in the -35/-40 range. The human body tends to develops alligator skin after so much of that.

Reservation alert for Starve Hollow

This must be a very popular campground (especially the water front sites)

I looked at the reserve america site and it shows that several of the water front sites are already booked for July 10-12.

This is the weekend before our gathering but I want to let you know that, in order to get good sites, you must be ready to book them at the earliest possible time.

Hopefully all of us will get in who want to attend the gathering.

Good luck and don't miss out on the reservation for July 17-19. Should be able to reserve Jan 17th at the earliest.

Hoosier Chapter Spring 2014 gathering.

Turkey Run State Park

Sites in the (Northern Loop) area of #22 to #104 would be a good area for the Spring outing. Any sites in this general area are fine also.

The Yellow box surrounds a suggested area.

The FINAL DATES will be May 15,16,17, 2014.

I've still got the Horse Shoes so we can play in May.
Anyone have a "Corn Hole" game set, please bring it along.
Anyone up for a Scavenger hunt? Or Disc Golf game?
Ladder Golf is always fun too . Let's talk about it.

Friday : "Meet & Greet" at 5:30 pm
Saturday: "Pitch-In Dinner" at 6:00pm
Saturday Night Movie: TBD (at 9:00pm or darkness)
Sunday Morning Breakfast: Bring your own dish, doughnuts and coffee, and coffee cake cake will be available.

Reservations can be made (6) months in advance through the "Reserve America" web site.

Weather permitting if I can't get to it before because of my knee and some inside work that needs done first I might pull a Mary and bring my canvas and glue it on there.
That'll be fun pulling off 9 rolls of duct tape :D

I hope you don't mind a traveler from the frozen tundra. I am heading south to visit family and figured I could make a slight detour on the way.
A few days spent with Teardroppers means I won't have to spend as many days with the family.
I reserved site #74 for Fri-Sat nights.
