I am suffering because I will miss this gathering for the first time since I had my teardrop. I will be back next year as long as no more relatives get married.

My interest was peaked as well when the topic of " Ironworkers dinner" was posted.....Maybe a little more info would help everyone. The main reason for the food thread is to help everyone chose food that does not compete. It keeps from having 6 potato salads and no desert and makes for a well rounded menu.

Have fun everyone. I will be thinking of you while I watch the "Chicken Dance" and listen to "Celebrate...good times, come on" for the 100th time.
Best I can hope for is an open bar.

For the ironworkers I know, that would be a shot, a beer, and a pickled egg!

I'm making biscuits and gravy for breakfast. I'll cook up a ham for dinner.

Okay, hoping I haven't missed somebody, here's what we have so far...

Three events: a Friday evening wine/beer and cheese/snack party (5:30 or whenever Gary can sneak us into the shelter) a Saturday breakfast (9:00 a.m.), and a Saturday night potluck (6:00 p.m.). I will try to compile as we go and make sure that an updated list appears on each subsequent page. :

Friday wine/cheese: This one doesn't need much organization--bring a beverage and a snack, no need to commit to something specific.
Pat and Mark--Bob Henry's Apple Pie (hot beverage with optional alcohol)

Saturday breakfast (Please just bring one thing--we always have way too much food):
Coffee, creamer, sugar (I'll bring the coffee urn)--Doug and Nan
Orange Juice--
Other Juice.--Chuck and Theresa
Milk--Chuck and Theresa
Pancakes--Dan
Syrup *Important* --Dan
Butter (soft margarine)--Doug and Nan
Sausage Links-- Pat and Mark
Bacon--Kevon & Annette
Fresh Fruit--Bill and Cindy (blueberries)
Coffeecake, bagels or muffins--Mike and Michelle (muffins); Sherry (bagels/cream cheese); Jenny and Dan (coffee cake)
Cornbread--KennethW
Potatoes--cheese potatoes--Bill and Cindy
Set ups for omelets (BYO eggs)--Gary and Cheri
eggs for omelets--Doug
Oatmeal--Al and Annie
Biscuits and gravy--Tom

Saturday evening potluck:

Main dishes
WIld rice casserole--Pat and Mark
Barbacoa tacos--Mike and Michelle
Ham--Tom
Chili--Kevon and Annette

Salads/vegetable dishes:
Veggie salad--Doug and Nan
Garlic mashed potatoes--Sherry
Corn casserole--Chuck and Theresa
Bok Choy salad--Jenny and Dan

Bread/rolls Grant and Diane

Dessert
Cookies, cake--Bill and Cindy
Rhubarb kuchen--KennethW

Count me OUT for any thing to do with the shelter !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

With this kind of statement I don't need any part of it !!!!
