I'll bring pulled pork (and buns) for Sat. Night.

Eileen, it's all up to you, whatever you wish to bring!

"Sign up for either Breakfast or Evening Meal - but not both. We will follow LOL's example for food. Just make a little more than you would normally make. This will give everyone more of an opportunity to enjoy Saturday."

"No one will complain if you are really into cooking and want to do both."

Eileen, we are not BBQing for dinner, cook however you prefer, but remember you only need to prepare something for one meal.

Eileen,

Look at what is currently being brought and then decide if you have something special that you would like to make for either breakfast or our evening meal.

You are going to find out that many of us are into cooking in a dutch oven, which is basically a cast iron crock pot, so if you want to make something in a crock pot that will be great and fit right in. If you look at a meal and say to yourself "That meal needs munchies" then bring a couple of bags of potato/taco/cheese chips. No desert, bring your specialty. What you see listed is what we will be eating for that meal.

I see that Sherry is bringing pulled pork. She did not say she is bringing buns. If you think buns are what the meal needs sign up for them. Remember we are looking at almost 50 people that will be eating at each meal.

Hi, I'll bring the mostaccioli...Saturday will be my "cheat" day.
One last question from this city girl...can I plug in my crockpot
in the shelter? Eileen

Eileen,

The shelter has two rooms. The room nearest the lake is all windows and unheated but has this huge fireplace. We try to buy firewood at the park as the proceeds support the park. The back room is heated and has 7 or 8 tables with chairs. The back wall has a counter and several wall outlets for people to plug in casseroles etc. The shelter costs us $200 (which we share) but is worth every cent we pay for it especially when the weather is not cooperating.

There are numerous pictures of the room with the fireplace here;

I'll soon need to commit to either a dinner main dish or dessert - anyone have a feeling for which one might be needed more? Or something else?

Diane wants to make DO pizza bread, and one of our kids and family are bringing a pasta salad for Sat. night. Another of our kids and family are coming too and I can't remember what she offered. Joel said he would bring a popcorn machine, but might not get there till a little later Fri. evening. I guess that's why they call it "pot luck". I hope the weather shapes up!
The SNOW STORM this afternoon was frightening!

Ok, change in plan.... made an awesome crockpot chicken/gravy concoction that is less complicated than the beans..... so I am going to do that and add wild rice.

So Theresa and Chuck are bringing Chicken and Wild Rice....

Well I have reviewed the thread and I think we'll go ahead and bring a dessert. Desserts are tasty even if used as a main meal, where entrees do not make great desserts.
