Well it looks as if my little black camping buddy might be attending her last campout if her luck holds out. I got word Friday Sadie has abdomonal cancer and maybe another month or so. She has been with me 10+ years and has been on countless camping trips. God I am gonna miss that pair of loving brown eyes. I hope she can hold out for one final campout together.

Let's get some chatter going about the approaching gathering. It's going to be here before we know it. Anybody know what you're making for the pitch in? I'm thinking a big pot of beans sounds good so that is what I'll be making. What about the rest of you???

I believe Mama is making a pot of her ham & cheese chowder. Always a big hit at family functions. 1st thing to go. (some people bring Tupperware to steal some to take home early before it's gone.) Should be really good if it cools off like it's supposed to.

mmmmm....Tell mama that sounds really good. I have a feeling our evenings will be cool enough that hot soups and such will be really good.

Sounds like a few of us are planning on cooking. Anybody else care to share or are we just going to be surprised??? I know there's always a great abundance and no one goes away hungry, that's for sure!!!

Sounds wonderful. So far, it sounds like we will have a nice variety of foods geared for a cool evening. Dan, you're ahead of me because I'm still up in the air as to what to bring for the wine and cheese get together. I wonder if Bob will bring his Apple Pie specialty?????
