2017 Hoosier camping schedule

Postby prohandyman » Fri Jul 22, 2016 5:25 am

Hello all you weekend wanderers! Kurt and I sat down while enjoying Versailles SP weather, and maybe a cocktail or two, and discussed possible locations for 2017, and of course we have listened to everyone input on favorite parks.
Well, this is what we are thinking!
Of course CRA will again be in July at McCormicks Creek SP. Our planning for this usually begins in November! You might imagine the amount of planning involved, especially on Kurts part. He retired and he's a workaholic!
We are looking at Prophetstown SP in May, and just about everyone's favorite...Starve Hollow in Oct.
We also have also been hearing feedback about addl camping dates, maybe in June and Sept, so let's talk some more.

I say thumbs up on all counts. Perhaps we can get some of our Illinois friends back over the line if we are at Lafayette. And who can resist Starved hollow. It made a lasting impression on me when very early morning I was enjoying a cup of coffee and looking over the lake when a bald eagle dipped a talon in the water and came up with a 2.5 ? pound fish for his breakfast. I had never seen either the bird or this fishing exhibition in real life in my 60+ years it was something to remember the rest of my life.
Growing older but not up !

Hey guys! I'm looking forward to hooking back up with the group moving forward. I hope to get the call in the next couple of weeks that our teardrop's done, so it'll be good to hit some of the rallies again with a new rig. Hoping to make it up to Pokagon with it in October!

Bob and Dan,

I'll sure try to make the spring trip, and maybe the CRA.
Life has been turned upside down here with the new job (but at least I have one).
I have very little time off these days, waiting for vacation time to accumulate.

Waiting for "someday" will leave you on your deathbed wondering why you didn't just rearrange your priorities and enjoy the time you had, instead of waiting for a "better" time to come along...
