We have a cheap Coleman canoe that is registered in NY just like our powerboat is. It is not required that the canoe be registered, I just did it as a means of identifying it as ours as we take it to lakes where there are rental canoes. Even so someone paid for a rental and took ours instead. We now use a cable & lock around a tree when not using the canoe or kayaks. So to answer the question, no you don't have to have a kayak registered to use it in NY. I would make some identifying marks on yours in some unseen place to ID them if necessary. Bob

Unfortunately Sandy had to cancel her plans for the TearUp. Site 229 (right in the middle of the pack (so to speak) is now available. If you are going to be booking a site, and want the shortest walk to the wine and cheese, this is your chance!

Mystery Campers

Postby campadk » Tue May 11, 2010 10:42 am

Looks like lots of 'mystery' campers have booked sites. Not sure if they are 'with the group' so to speak, or just others camping for the weeked. Regardless if you haven't book a site yet, do so ASAP as sites are getting few and far between. Sites available past the ends of the group currently include 198, 199 at one end and 266, 267 at the far end.

The group is now spread out across 60 sites. Better bring your bikes!

Gage did say the rain was following him around last year.
Unfortunately I don't think he's going to make it this year. So we should be safe from the rain.

Speak of rain... Kate and I bought a 10x17ft Quest Canopy. It should keep about 20 people dry... so we might need help keeping the other 80 or so dry... should it just happen to rain on the Sat night 'Wine and Please (Don't Rain)' event. So anybody else who happens to have a canopy available, we would be greatful! Let me know if you can help us out on this one.

Thanks!

Being close to all the action we will bring a large 13 x 13 I think it is? But it it has poles rather than a quick pop-up canopy.

OK....I spoke to Linda Young today from the food pantry & she was very pleased to hear from us again. I asked her if she & her husband could join us on Saturday to speak to the group about what they do & how much our donations mean to them. She is hoping that they can come up but we will touch base again about that as the date gets closer. If they can't make it, we will deliver the goods as we did last year.

She did tell me that this was a busy year at the food pantry & that they saw many new faces. She also said they saw a lot of pregnant women. I asked her what they could use most as far as products & this is what she suggested....

Pasta
tuna
peanut butter
macaroni & cheese
boxed dinners
jelly
juices
baby food & diapers!!!
pet food
personal care products

I hope this is helpful to everyone & we would ask if you could get the food items to our campsite as soon as possible on Friday(not sure when we will be arriving) or Saturday morning. We are on site 236.

Thanks-Becky & Ed
