Hello folks,

Well a few here asked for an update on my skin cancer surgery. The doctor says he got it all,but a blood test is needed in a few weeks to comfirm. You realy don't know how a spot on you back can keep your arm from moving much,Ouch! Having trouble sleeping because everywhere I move it hurts,or the stitches pull or rub. Thank God it's on my left ,and I am right handed. Hey, at least I got a paid vacation out of it.

Everyone have fun, hope the weather is great. Gonna miss a fun event. Take plenty of pictures ,please.

Hopefully the recovery will take its natural course and you'll be back to 100% soon.

Just a reminder to everyone-Sat June 14 is Flag Day, so if you can, please bring along your American Flag and display it at your campsite!

Proper etiquette would dictate that you fly it alongside with an American flag. I believe Canadian flag day is Feb. 15 :D

Or do as Dave does; fly it just below the US flag. (when in the US)

Nothing wrong with being proud of your flag.

I know I'm not camping in February in Canada, so this will have to do.

We're headed out tomorrow, with several stops along the way.... If anyone is in the area where we'll be, stop and give us a yell.

We'll be here on the following nights:

June 8-9 - Hocking Hills SP, Ohio
10th - Campark Resorts Best Holiday Travel Park, Niagara Falls, ON
11-12 - Sandbanks Provincial Park, Picton, ON
13-15 - ADK Spring TearUp
16th - Lackawanna SP, PA
17-19 - Codorus SP, PA
20 - Claytor Lake SP, Virginia

Two weeks of Teardrop bliss..... We're so looking forward to the trip!

We'll be in a white Toyota Tacoma with a couple of kayaks.. Charlie and Angie, and of course, the DragonFly.....

Dennis, I can do two of the three. Congrats on the "Great- Grandfather" honor. :applause:

Last year at FCP, I could only do one. It will be a long time before most of us can fill your position. "GGF" rules

Stuckish in Seattle - Get Us Home for the TearUp!

Postby campadk » Sun Jun 08, 2008 7:00 pm

Yupp.. not Sleepless, but Stuckish in Seattle. With all the tornatoes and freaky weather in the Chicago area, Kate and I are stuck here
in Seattle... hoping and praying we can get back home via Chicago to head to the TearUp early. They offered to fly us from Seattle to Miami,
then Miami to Toronto, Toronto to Ottawa... passed on that one ! LOL

For fun, here are a few photos from our pre-TearUp Alaskan cruise...

Kate lost in the rain forest about 100ft above sea level in Ketchikan Alaska

Image

Visiting the Mendelhall Glacier outside of Juneau...

Image

Hot Tubbing on the high seas...

Image

Kate assisted building a Champage Tower...

Image

On a more relevant note... Trailer and RV transportation by barge... glad we didn't bring the tear or Airstream camping in Alaska!
In a storm that small boat and the 5th wheel are the first to go!

Image

So if all goes well, we hope to arrive at Fish Creek later on Wed.. just in time to enjoy the 29C heat wave!

PS. Weather forecast for the TearUp looks excellent! Mainly sunny or cloudy with warm temps!

Dave, the storms here indiana have caused lots of damage.
I watched the build up to the tornado on Friday night and it was scary for sure .
Hopefully the weather at fcp will be OK.

Heading out tomorrow morning. Going to stop at Watkins Glenn for two nights. FCP is six or seven hours from there. Have everything loaded and are we heavy  why do we bring so much. Seem like we have been loading stuff in for days. Ken+Pat

Just a suggestion for all TearUp campers... bring a LOT of CASH for GAS!

We are now paying the equivalant of $5.07 a gallon here in Ontario ourselves!

Glad we only have to tow our trailer 15 minutes to the campground. Filling up the boat will be the killer...

We should be arriving at FCP mid afternoon tommorrow (Wednesday)

Weather looks like a bit of a mixed bag, so bring your umbrellas, sunscreen, heavy tie downs and grounding cables :o

Tues (today) - AccuWeather is calling for 'A damaging thunderstorm'

Wed - mix of sun and cloud, 30% chance of rain, chance of isolated T-storms, high of 74F

Thu - mostly sunny!, high of 73F

Fri - sunny/partly cloudy, high of 81F

Sat - cloudy, chance of T-storms, 50% chance of rain, high of 74F

Sun - partly sunny, high of 70F

Mon - cloudy, high of 70F
