We figured sites in the 101-124 range Steve.

We've been in Lake Placid since last Tuesday basking in luxury (although working also) and have seen hard rain and brutal wind last week but the last few days have been unbelievable!!

We spend yesterday out on the boat on Lake Placid in hot sunny weather. Same for today and tommorrow ,then the weather is going to turn colder (highs of 53/54F) and <gulp> on the wet side all weekend.

Who is still in? I'll be watching the weather closely over the next few days.

Sorry to hear Rick and Diane won't be making it. Hope Rick is on the mends.

Weather dependant,:worship: we should be there late afternoon on Friday and head back home Sunday morning. Have to be back in town by 1:00pm on Sunday. If it looks like nothing but rain, we'll have to see and maybe flip a coin

Well...due to our current job situation (lack of) and now the miserable weather forecast, these fairweather campers are going to stay closer to home this weekend. Sorry to miss out on any gathering and any opportunity to use the fort. We'll see y'all next year we hope!

Here's the latest update on our end.

We're not sure if we're going to be able to get back up to Ottawa in time to pick up the teardrop there and get back down to NY. I've been overly busy this week down here. If this is the case, we might just come over to Fish Creek to visit on the Saturday.. maybe bike ride and campfire?

Also our other friends might end up at the KOA instead too so it gets a bit more complex.

I'll post exact plans as soon as I know whats up.

Hows things looking at your end Steve? Seem we've dwindled down to a few of us at this point.

We're on the fence! We'll go if there are others willing. Otherwise, I'll stay home and work on changing out my furnace. Who's gonna push me one way or the other?? :?

We have been putting off deciding what to do about this weekend but we have fallen off the fence on the side of staying home and working on projects here. Hope to make it next time if we are around.

Well final word here is that... well we're still here in Lake Placid. I'm working today/tommorow so we won't make it back home to get the Tear. We'll be staying here in Placid thru till Monday morning.

Anyone still going to Fish Creek, let us know and we'll pop over for a visit this weekend.

doesnt look good

Postby Finntec » Fri Oct 07, 2005 8:55 pm

I have put a lot into our TD this week. We carpeted the floor, put A/C in the galley and interior. Hooked up a heater and interior lights. Re-did the galley seal and door foam. Planned on getting a easy up for the weekend and go up to Fish Creek. The weather looks too bad for Debby. She thinks she wouldnt like all the rain. Soooo it looks like we will not be attending. Hopefully we can have better luck next time.

TD camping

Postby Finntec » Tue Oct 11, 2005 4:38 pm

I still plan to use the TD. If the weather is somewhat dry and the roads a not going to be snow filled, I'll try to camp again this year. I think I may be camping out for Oswego State's Dept. of Technology, Fall Conference on the night of Oct 27 in Oswego, NY. It gets pretty windy up there, so I'll have to see the forecast (25mph +) first. I may even go this weekend to Ithaca camping, but it looks unlikely. I can't wait to try out he heater. Its toooo hot for anything over 40F. :x

When I went to cape cod last week, I had the choice of camping for 30 bucks a night, or a motel for 100+.... I camped.... the c/g had cable tv, so it was a no brainer.... even if they did not, I have a vcr/dvd player now with lots of home recorded tapes.... so I wound up about 500 bucks ahead and slept in my own bed.
