We got a full week out of our TD battery due the selection of efficient lighting fixtures and frugal use of the same.

I use a very small 750 ma charger when I get home.... for the long weekend we were there, it took about 24 hours to fully charge it after we got home... I suspect we could go almost a week.. I really should check the specs on the battery... but ADK is about the only place we stay more than one night with no shore power...

I also might check running the 13" tv and vcr on an inverter.. would like to watch a movie at night from time to time. Have to look at the wattage draws on them.

You know, I never did see Tom with a martini..../g/

Tom,
Did you run your radio off the 12v too? Maybe I'll have to install a 12v system w/ LEDs too.

Ray and Debbie - Most of the time, I ran the portable speakers off of AA's and the XM it's its internal battery. The XM's battery is good for 5 hours and recarges in the car. I ran the set-up for a an hour or two off the the inverter one night when the XM's internal battery ran out of juice.

Arne - I enjoyed some martinis earlier in the week. However, after I messed up my up my back, I couldn't enjoy them. The prescription meds I was give had strict warnings to avoid alcohol.

We also ran the inverter very briefly in the mornings to grind our coffee beans.

I'm only just now beginning to catch up with e-mail and forums. What a great time! Many thanks to Dave & Kathy for another fine weekend - we're already looking forward to next year!

After pulling out on Monday, Kate and I went down to the Adirondack Museum. (Thanks for the twofer, Kathy!) We were in the Boat Building when the skies opened up, so between downpours we toured the rest of the museum, had lunch in their cafe and it wasn't too long before it quit and we headed on down the road. Spent two nights at Lake Durand and one at Fourth Lake in Lake Luzerne where I got in a little more fishing. Lots of crappie but I didn't feel much like cleaning fish so I just tossed 'em back. Then we drove down to PA for the TearJerkers Liberty Bell Chapter Pocono Getaway - I'm not much for camping on asphalt pads, but it was still a great time. We didn't encounter any more rain until Saturday night, but it stopped and held off Sunday morning just long enough to get packed up and hit the road for home.

Kate was delighted with the whole trip - she got LOTS of material for her new book. I can only hope that the Spring Tear-Up and the TearJerker's gathering continue to be a week apart. Ten days of teardrop time! Who could ask for a better vacation?!

Hope you back is much better now Tom.

Was definately a good excuse not to serve us all martinis for breakfast... But wait till next year!

PS. I get a week out of our battery... how it seemed this time my new solar panel sucked the juice right out of it??? Have to check on that one...

Joseph you too have had quite a trip!

I was laughing with Kate yesterday say... "look at this Kate... Joseph is still on the road out camping. Here are some photos from this park... oh looks like Kate is sketching again. Here's a shot of his tear on the road. LOL". Everyone is posting photos of your recent travels so we feel like we've been following you around.

PS. Next years TearUp is June 14-17, 2007.

As is now the new custom, we will have perfect weather. The freak rain and wind storm that flatten the park this year has been cancelled :D
Since Diane killed all those horseflies this year, I'm hope those won't be visiting us next time.

You get an active X window? That shouldn't happen. Thats a new problem because of change in Internet Explorer, and I have remove the code that gets it in a panic already. Are you viewing them from http://tearuptheadk.com/photos.html ?

I get that active X window warning all over the Internet now because of IE. Webmasters are slowly changing their coding to fix this IE issue.

Dave- I always get that Active X warning when I click on to any of your sites also. I can close the window to view the individual photo but get's real annoying when you're trying to view 250 photos. :frustrated: Is there anything I can do to delete that warning?

Kathy just let me know she has recently developed that program on some of our sites as well (after an IE update). I have located a fix for this and will be updating all the effective pages to get around the IE 'bug'. Luckily this doesn't happen on my computers.

PS. Kate has Bambi-itic.. she is filling her computer up with Airstream photos. I guess I better start polishing up the tear to look like one to keep her mind of it LOL. Off to Fish Creek on Friday! Wahoo celebrating with ya Americans next week! A 2 fer! July 1st and July 4th!

Since Rick and Steve... you guys know Nicks Lake. Do you have some sites in mind for us to book? Or is it just pick when you get there at that time of the year (Sep 8th weekend).

Dave- Diane and I are going to take a ride up to Nicks Lake after the 4th and scout out some decent sites. We haven't camped there in about 5 or six years so I have to refresh my memory! I know you guys prefer water sites so we'll see what we can come up with.
Also, is Sept 8-10 the dates we are planning?Di and I had already taken the 8th off for another function which has since been cancelled, so we are good for a 3 day weekend
