We just booked site 168 and are really looking forward to seeing everyone again. Really had a great time last year. ':D'

After the Tearup, we will probably spend another week or so at some Adirondack campgrounds in other areas. Last year, we moved on to Golden Beach CG on Racquette Lake and also Lewey Lake CG. This gives us a little variety.

We are jealous of those of you within a few hours of the best camping and paddling around, but we try to make the most of our drives up there.

Hopefully. we will still get another weekend or two of teardropping in here in Ohio before the snow and salt arrive.

Congrats Steve! I take it you sold your stripper. Maybe the new owner might have to re-break it in again at the TearUp.

Sounds like Al and Les did a great job promoting their Paha Que. There will be 3 of us with them this time. Yes we will be prepared for.... oh I can't say it... everyone just pray for some ADK sunshine!

We enjoyed some fine snow there a few weeks ago in Lake Placid. We were so sorry not to have brought our skis!

Dave,

My hometown is only approx 1 hour from Fish Creek. It's a tiny little town by the name of Hermon. Look on a fairly detailed map to NY and just look a bit to the West and maybe a touch North of Fish Creek. We will probably go visit my 97 year old Dad after we leave on Sunday. Love the snow and missed out on any skiing last season entirely. Doubt that I will get to go this season either.

Hi all,

arnereil, I see you have a recumbent bike ,are you bringing it along? I have a recumbent trike, and Fish Creek has miles of camp roads. I think I am leaving 1 kayak at home ,and bringing the trike. Local roads are not well traveled ,so I may be riding a lot. Kerry in site 171 rides a wedgie, maybe he will bring his bike too. Hoping for a dry event next year.

Actually, Randy, from Kentucky, took the stripper to Fish Creek ponds for a test drive/campout! He did some fly fishing in the Ausable, then traveled home. He really enjoyed "your" campsite!

The recumbent is a distinct possibility, now that I have a galley and can get some stuff out of the van....... matter of fact, the short wheel base 'bent is in the van now..... rode it last Sunday.

About site 174, I was in the middle of reserving it using reserveamerica when Shirley asked about senior discounts... so it got placed on 'hold' for some period of time... finally, I got tired of handling the whole thing, calling and all (I was trying to get my axle back on), so told Shirley to handle it. When she called by phone, she was told it was taken, I'm sure because I had started the reservation process....... so we got 173..... an hour later, I got on reserveamerica again and found 174 was available (again).. it had become unrestricted from the temp hold the system had put on it......

Great Wright! You could always bring your partially finished tear and let some of the TearUp gang help you out. :o

Did you book your site yet? If so let me know and I'll add you to the list at http://campadk.com/pjsnoozer/springtear ... pants.html

Only 207 days to go!

Cheers!

Just an update. We now have 29 participants (15 trailers) booked for the Spring TearUp. Can someone confirm who is on site 170?

Are you praying for sunshine? No worry... it WILL BE SUNNY!

As well this year we have some exceptional prizes.

No doubt we'll have to come up with some new fun competitions. If you have any ideas, lets us know!

Kate and I will be starting our summer early again this year... we're off to Jamaica for 10 days later this week! See you, come soon enough!

Dave-
I'm going to hold you to that garauntee of sunshine! As for some competition, how about "best camp sign" it has to be home-made of course.
Are we going to do shirts this year? Or maybe sweatshirts based on last years temps  Diane and I would be willing to take care of that task if you would like us to. Let us know.
You and Kathy have a great time in Jamaica!

Best camp sign? EXCELLENT idea! Shall we just mail you the prize now and get it over with? LOL. Yes Diane must be dying for another creative task I bet.
Maybe prizes for best, weirdess.. whatever.

Maybe we need a poll for T-shirts or sweatshirts.. could change it up and go for hats, bumper stickers or even bubba kegs with some sticker on it!

Here is the bubba keg we are bringing to meet other people on another travel forum we participate in...

Not sure if it would fit in a teardrop though

Who is interested in some sort of souvenir? What kind of item(s) are you interested in?

Well about whatever, Darla said," how about a small flag 12"x18". Then it could be an annual thing to hang at the trailer?" The mug is cool too. Tees are a common thing that is usually had at events. Our 2 cents

Dennis and Darla-
I think the flag idea is excellent! It's got my vote.
