That scant 60 miles will take you about 3.5 hours across the Beartooth Hwy. That being said, it might be the best three hours you will spend.

Apparently there will be no power at Fishing Bridge this summer. my wife just stumbled onto this article today.

Hi folks! This is my first post to this forum. Looks great so far - lots of activity and camping talk. I spend a lot of time in Yellowstone and use this quick interactive campground map:

For a "central" location I would pick Norris or Tower(Tower is not really that central, but it's cool). For a northern location I would pick Pebble Creek(Slough is gorgeous but I find it too busy for my needs). Lewis Lake is *great*, but it's way south. A nice stop onthe way to Teton. You can spend a lot of time at Lewis Lake. Really great body of water.

I always default to Norris for a central location. You can't go wrong, and it's far less crazy than Canyon. For fishing, I always choose Slough, Pebble or Lewis Lake.

For Grand Teton, I will always choose Colter Bay or Jenny Lake(I have a tent too).
