We will be staying at the Colorado Springs KOA on the 24-28th of September. We are planning to see the Chyanne Zoo, Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Royal Gorge, Seven Falls, Cripple Creek, and if we have time head up to Denver to see the mint. Is there anything else we should consider seeing? Thanks for your help.

By the way if anyone wants to stop by, you are more than welcome.

Steve, if you are even THINKING about going to the Denver mint, you'll have to write your state Senator (I think) and he/she will get you a pass to get in. Thanks to terrorists, Joe Sixpack can't go and visit whenever. You might visit the website and see what the restrictions are. I'm sure after the plot uncovered in London last night they won't make it any easier to visit.

Oh, while at the Garden of the Gods, try and make it to the Cave of the Winds nearby. The time of year you are going will be pretty, should be starting the fall colors in the mountains. Take pictures......... be careful.

Steve,
If you have time go to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Also the Cliff Dwellings at the foot of Pike's Peak are pretty impressive. There's lots to see and do in that area. If you decide to go to the top of Pike's Peak it is pretty much a full day up and back.

Are we there yet?

Jeff,
I didn't even think about getting into the mint as being a problem thanks for the heads up. I went to the mint when I was a kid, it was really cool.
O.K. cave of the winds is on our list. Thanks

Scott, I forgot to add the cliff dwellings to my list. I have been to colorado a dozen times and everytime we go we plan to see the cliff dwellings but I have yet to see them. This time I hope we make it :worship: .
The Airforce Academy is on the list too. thanks for the links.

Thanks guys for the information.

. This may be on your way up
through the Santa Fe Trail ... North to Colorado
and may be of intrest. I like what I have read about
this top 10 camp grounds in America and maybe you
too would find this area of intrest?

I have put below some URL's that may be helpful for you.
