WATKINS MILL STATE PARK - APRIL 24TH/25TH

Postby RAYVILLIAN » Thu Apr 02, 2009 7:25 am

If there is anyone interested in joining Gary and I ... Mark and Em ... Tony and Kathy at Watkins Mill State Park on 92 highway north of Excelsior Springs ... come on up. We have to get some April camping in. For those that have never been to Watkins Mill, it has a beautiful lake with walking trail plus an old Mill and other buildings that are open for touring.

In the summer we always have to have reservations, but we hope to be able to just show up. They have a lot of first come first serve spaces. Gary is going on over Friday afternoon and get some spaces ... I will come over after I get off work. They have a brand new bath house ... we will try to get close to that ... its within a stones throw of the lake.

I'll just be there in spirit... have a glass of wine for me !!! Sorry, it's an awful long drive for me and I'll save up the gas money for the Jeff's Missouri Ozark campout.

See ya then! Have a fun campout!

Gary will be over Friday afternoon but I have to work until 7:00 pm ... so will be there about 7:30 pm. Wine and cheese sound GREAT !!!!

We will plan our traditional breakfast for everyone on Saturday morning. I am sure we will have an impromptu Saturday potluck as well.

Weather sounds like it is going to be awesome ... about time.

Trudy

p.s. Julie ... we will have a glass for you!

Looking forward to the breakfast Trudy and Gary, it's always GREAT. Can I bring something? Maybe make coffee for everyone? I have a fresh can of Maxwell House regular. I don't do sugar or creamer but if you all let me know what you like I'll bring it.

We might actually have nice weather this weekend .... Great weather for camping and going to Gatsby celebration at Excelsior Springs!. Daren, I will take up your offer for coffee. Em suggested for dinner, everyone bring something to grill and a side dish and we all eat and share together.

Having a taste of Missouri Wines festival on Saturday in Excelsior Springs... plus some other things. About 15 min from the camp site. Hope to see you all there. Trudy
