Clinton Lake just west of Lawrence, KS. It's a pretty nice area over in the Walnut campground. I've thrown a couple of gatherings there before.

has anyone ever done any camping in the "Flint Hills " area?

are there any good places there?

Phil, we have camped at El Dorado SP down below the dam and it was alright. Clean area but no close lake access. We've also had a good time at Fall River SP south of there. The Flint Hills area are usually windy no matter what time of the year you camp but it sure is pretty country.

Ive driven through there alot and its really pretty country

also what about Clinton st park, that you mentioned?

looks pretty nice
there are many storms in life that come our way
the trick is learning to "dance in the rain."

I've camped at Clinton SP with 25,000 people (Wakarusa Music Festival) so I can't tell you what it's like with a smaller group.

The area that I HAVE camped in with the North and South Central peeps is over in the West end of Clinton Lake called Walnut Campground.............Good shade, showers, chip-and-seal driveways and you can reserve specific sites.

my family is from around there, my mom grew up near Topeka and my Dad grew up in Fort Scott

I plan on a trip to Fort Scott next month after Natural Falls
and stopping over at Crawford a couple days to kinda cjeck it
out before sept.

Mill Creek 2011 ???????

Would like to see another gathering at Mill Creek Corp Park on Tablerock Lake......May 13,14,&15. If we could get a few feedbacks here before attempting reservations it would help decide......Queenie Jeanne

by the way, Dennis and I have reservations at Petite Jean AR for November
12,13,14.....If anyone is interested we will have sites 21 & 22 by the lake....

PS Darren, are you going to put the schedule onto the first line of this thread for Arrrow Rock?....it would help those of us who can't use a calender...by the way...if there is a problem with Mill creek dates. let me know....

I've got Mill Creek on my calendar. As of right now I plan on us attending.

I don't know on Petit Jean. I've wanted to get down there for some time but don't yet know if we are able to in Nov. I'll keep it in mind.
