Crawford

Postby queeniejeanne » Mon Sep 13, 2010 9:04 am

This weather is great hope it lasts for us at Crawford...

Rick, I think the bucket and tub went past Phil, I get it though. Phil you should still have biscuits from Mill Creek  That original amount will be about right for Crawford this year. What was that about 68 biscuits?;)

are Larry and Macy on the list......baconman? If not maybe I can arrange for the long haired DJAYH to cook some up. he did it at Fort Gibson.....about 5 pounds ought to be good.....maybe throw in some Ham slices too. We Will of course bring some famous farm fresh eggs from Autumn Olive in Bois D'Arc for Trudy and Gary's laripin Mountain man casserole.

I would buy a yearly for Kansas and will but not this late in the year. Thanks for all the info Darren.

The weather here has just been awesome. The average temps for the dates of the gathering are a high of 78 and lows around 56. We'll have a full moon on the 23rd also.

Haven't heard from Larry, been wondering myself. I know it's hard for them to get away during the school year.

I'll cook up some breakfast sausage. Jimmy Dean regular and hot! Got a new skillet I need to break in.

We might have to have a March get together so we can get the yearly pass' before the price increase. :D

Arriving on Thursday.

Darren - Victor Star
Bob - Firelion
Phil - okiecamper
Jeanne and Dennis - queeniejeanne
Mark and Ginger
Gene and Betty - Catoosa Grani

Looks like we'll be reserving the group area Thursday night also.

Who's up for a chicken run on Thursday. I think I should stay at the site on Friday to welcome people in.

If people are coming in later we can all meet at one of the restaurants. The south location, best food also, has a large gravel parking lot.

Let me know what time you all are planning on getting in and if you want to get some chicken.

breakfast

Postby Dick » Wed Sep 15, 2010 9:58 pm

For breakfast Sat morning we'll bring a big bowl of fresh fruit. I'm thinking Darren and Dennis will probably be craving fried chicken for b-fast. Can't wait until next weekend.

Jeanne,
I haven't found a hollow log yet, still looking.
You could always bring full bottles. If we find a log, I am sure you would have help to empty them.

While looking at stoves last fall I ran into the "rocket stoves". I think if we had one of the inserts it would work like a hollow log to direct the airflow up and create a lot of heat.

http://www.stovetec.net/us/stove-produc ... on-chamber

My second thought on this would be to get a piece of steel pipe about 5" diameter and weld some legs on the bottom. The legs would created the space for air to flow up and through the pipe. Maybe?

 :D
