 I didn't even go to Chicken Annies', I was just there a week ago though.

It was a very last minute decision to go. I had considered waiting a week or two but really wanted to get out of the city for a few days.

Had a great time. Mark and Em came down Saturday and we just relaxed in the shade and had some awesome sausage for dinner. I'll have photos up later.

What area did you stay at?

Was it busy?

Was it windy?

Link to some photos.

I stayed the first night at site 135 in the Oak Point Campground. There were 5 or 6 electric sites not used and probably a dozen or so non utility sites open. Pretty calm and quiet. A few kids making noise but nothing unusual.

The next morning I moved over to the Rocky Cove Campground at site 122, I think. I saved the site next to me for Mark and Em. The park was cool with me saving the site as long as I paid and parked something on it. It's pretty relaxed down there on rules.

Wind did come up yesterday but it made it nice in the shade.

OOOOh!!!

Postby Dick » Sun May 23, 2010 10:13 pm

OOOOOh! Kath and I would have headed in the opposite direction if we would have known you, Mark & Em would have been there. We left Friday morning and went to Indian Cave SP north of Falls City NE. We hit a road detour at Falls City and had at least a 25 mile detour to get there but found out about a shortcut on the way back although 6-7 miles of gravel road. Indian Cave was a nice park but I think we are spoiled by all the nice parks in KS and MO. Was nice "gettin' out of town" for thw weekend. Used the dutch oven for the first time and wow - what a way to cook. Guess we're learning something from camping out at the gatherings.
