Kansas - Crawford State Park September 23-25, 2011 RESERVED

Postby Darren » Sun Sep 26, 2010 5:26 pm

Crawford State Park has been reserved for September 23 -25, 2011. My guess is some people will want to come early so I verified that the site will be available on Thursday. We can reserve the whole site or each of us pay the normal price for an electric site for the night. Staying Sunday night is also an option.

The park is paid for and I'll collect money at the Gathering. Last year it was $10 for each camper. FOR THE WHOLE WEEKEND.

This is a State Park and requires a vehicle pass at $4.20 each day. Yearly passes are $19.70 if bought before April 1st, $24.70 after that. Kansas has an online ordering system this year but I'm going to hold out and see if we can all get together before the price goes up. You can get the pass at the park gate also. Link to buy the park pass.

Based on feedback I received last year I expect we'll have even more people this fall. If you are coming you will need to double or triple up on the sites. If we have enough people come we'll also need to park our cars along the road. Last year we had 20 campers and there are 10 sites but to me it isn't crowded. There are several other areas in the park to stay at if you want more privacy and we will have the different activities times posted before the gathering so you won't miss out. Only 8 months to go. Better get on the list ASAP! :D

Let me know if you have any questions. :applause:
I'm going to attempt assigning sites this year.
People that are bolded have verified coming.
We will make room for everyone and this not set in stone.

Just want to give everyone a chance to vote before setting the date.

Thanks,
Darren

There has also been talk about an early spring gathering at Crawford so I called the park today. They believe that the south bath house, the one by our area, is going to be open all winter for the hunters. If not arrangements can be made to have it opened for us. They didn't say anything about the shelter being enclosed yet but with that fireplace we should be able to keep warm. :) I need to remember to ask about an off-season discount.

I don't mind cold but no rain or snow.

Let me know what weekend in March (early discount for annual park pass) for Crawford. I'll add it to the gathering list.
