Walk the Winds 2013 was awesome. It's smaller size (about 15 trailers this year) made it great for us "newbies" as as we didn't get lost in the crowd. We had a wonderful time making new friends, swapping tall tales and getting tips for a few tweaks on our trailer. Here's a few pictures to get things started. More to come later.

Look at what I deleted from your img callouts and they will show as soon as you reload your pics. The id numbers will be diferent and don't forget to put the img tags where they belong. I left them off so they wouldn't show as little boxes with red X's. ;)

the great thing about walk the winds is the no organzation and lack of rules. we love our loosly run small gatherings and it works out great the only activites I have is a coleman lantern lite up and 2 potlucks this makes it great for folks to go out from camp most the day and go take in all the stuff you can do in the area.

most people don't stay in camp all day so theres nothing to miss!

no long lines at the tables for food and the guy cooking a do roast gets to eat when his food is done with plenty of food left over just like when your montoring the rv omelets you still get breakfast!

no lines at the bathroom just

if your in the jon remmber to lock the door! someone might still be in there using the fancy out house.

heard no complanits about showers or running water or need for 120 drop cords!!!!!!!!!!

all the women said they didn't need that kinda of stuff and told me when asked if they were comfterble that its camping isn't it

and we don't need normal pots to go bathroom in and we can get by a few days with no showers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no one begged for a drop cord to plug in the tv!!!!!!!!!! it was awsome how people like my roughing it style of teardrop gatheringa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

other than a banner from paul and probaly teashirts next year. I got praticaly nothing for stuff for the gathering.

its pretty loose ran.

few people got lost finding it again this year but then turned around and found the group spot. no real big deal.

I was the last one in camp saturday moring at 8.

we had some scottys campers we had angie in a tent and we had teardrops no rules.

only rule I will add next year is keep the dogs kinda in line and out of dog wars.

What a great gathering. Kudos to all involved in the effort to make it all happen. We came to Walk the Winds one last year as "wannabees" met some nice folks and got lots of ideas for our then upcoming build. Well this year was really special as we were no longer "wannabees" as we were able to come with our ,campable (not anywhere near finished), teardrop (more accurately "squaredrop"). We made some special new friends and are already looking forward to next year so count us in for Walk the Winds III . Norma was kinda lukewarm about the whole teardrop thing up till now ( you know let's humor him and see where it goes type thing) but she is an enthusiastic teardropper now !

it was another great year. I think more people this year got out of camp and got out and took in all the area had to offer. was suppresed sunday moring to find dee out in a kayak on the lake. hopefully next year I can get more time off to be there. I like that this is a freindly open type of gathering with out the clanish ness or clubness of what I am hearing of some of the other gatherings.

it nice to have a place where everyone is accepted even as a total stranger the moment they hit camp.

hope to be a little more organized on the food on my end next year too.
