Just a brief update...

YES!!! There will be a "Last Gasp of Summer 2013"...

I'm just not sure where it will be held. Our campground was in the 'fire zone', however did NOT burn. It is owned by the city of Canon City and at this time they are opening it to 'day use' ONLY... I am hoping they will change their minds and allow us to camp there.

However, if they do not, I have been scouting alternative sites and will be letting you know what those options very soon when I get more information.

For now... Please mark your calendars for September 26-29, 2013 for the "Last Gasp of Summer 2013" #8!!! and we will CAMP!!!

hey Ryan. It would be great to see you again at the Last Gasp. If you want to come a day early you could stop here overnight. anyway, A decision will be made very soon the traditional last gasp group is reviewing the options of our usual spot, a couple interesting commercial campgrounds, or an altogether different forest service CG all in and around the canon city co area. Canyon city is about 90 miles from our home on South Park. Keep checking back to this thread.

Whew... Iced coffee clink... I have been working on locations for this 'gathering' and am finally closing in on some final plans... Anyone who is interested can send me a message or an email and I will be happy to disclose as much info as I can... Please note, a specific sight is NOT finalized yet but will be very soon! September 26-29, 2013.... Colorado is THE place to be with me!!! LOL! hugz!

YES!!!! I am working on the location.... I have 4 possibles, all within 15 miles of and including our campground at the Royal Gorge (which was saved from the fire!!!), and am getting votes from repeated attendees to make the choice!!! If you want to vote and I have not emailed you... email me at [email protected]...

We are less than 1 month out and I would love to have you all come camp with me!!!!

Hello all!!!

So sorry it is coming so late... but.... here it is...

YOUR OFFICIAL INVITATION TO 'THE LAST GASP OF SUMMER 2013'

Many of you are out of state and have already told me that you cannot make the trip this year... BUT... this is to tease you or entice you to 'change' your plans... or at least look ahead at making the trip next year!!!

Our repeated attendees voted and chose to return to 'our' original campground! We will be having our annual gathering at 'our' campground, Eastridge Campground at Royal Gorge, Canon City, CO...

Although, the forest fire came close it did NOT burn our campground. I like to think of forest fires as Mother Nature's way of cleaning house. It will be depressing to see the damage, however, our campground is beautiful and we WILL enjoy our time in beautiful COLORADO!!

I have updated our flyer and can send it to anyone needing it! If you have any questions, PLEASE ask!!!

I would like to personally invite each and everyone of you to join us!

We are planing on coming down.
Of course, today I get a call about a potential job when the Last Gasp is happening.
Only time will tell.

How have the rains been down there?
I know that the campground is high enough but what does the dirt road leading in look like?
Also, the rain could have caused some damage to the burn area and is the forest service still keeping the campground open?
